Bush's foreign policy is still better than Trump's.

It's funny what he said about Hillary being qualified and being friends. Although that's hardly some sort of revelation. No, for me it's far more then just her Iraq vote. If she had voted for Iraq, and then subsequently voted against funding it as a Senator, voted against further involvement in the middle east, denounced our continued presence there, then I could forgive her for that vote. There have been lots of Democrats who voted for it and then showed then afterwards showed signs of regret more then just words and tried to bring our troops home. Also for me more her time as secretary of state that does it for me. I mean she encouraged American involvement in Libya and Syria, continued involvement in Iraq. She says she has no regrets about Libya http://foreignpolicy.com/2016/04/14/hill...out-libya/ Acting like all Hillary has done is vote for the war in Iraq is not accurate. Her whole foreign policy mirrors George Bush. (August 12, 2016 at 2:15 pm)Alasdair Ham Wrote: Bush's foreign policy is still better than Trump's. In what way? Yeah, I mean he calls for a withdrawal of troops from the middle east, in that statement bashes on the Iraq war and Bush. He says he wants to defeat ISIS and then leave the middle east. He gets along with Russia, which I see as a positive thing. In general he's fairly dovish, especially for a Republican. I'm not saying it's all peaches and roses. On the flip side he antagonizes Mexico and China, which is probably the worst part of his foreign policy. He also is probably not going to make a great diplomat when dealing with other leaders. It's possible you could have a minor border war right here with Trump, so I'm not saying it's all good or anything. Bush's foreign policy was a total disaster, the worst since LBJ or maybe even the worst of all time. So I'll ask again, in what way do you think he's worse then Bush? I'm not a fan of Trump and I'm not voting for him. That doesn't change anything about Hillary Clinton's record.

As though you can't be critical of Hillary Clinton's foreign policy, without supporting Trump? That makes no sense. Donald Trump is an unqualified buffoon and Hillary Clinton has a terrible foreign policy. It's not an either or thing. Bush wasn't good, but Trump would be worse. In the same breath he calls for withdrawal from the Middle East he endorses torture, even if it doesn't work in his own words, he endorsed the killing of families of terrorists and he doesn't rule out the use of nuclear weapons first. That's a lot worse, going by what he said alone. That may all be false bravado, but it also points to the unstable personality he is. And, I may repeat, he hasn't got any mitigating factor on his team, such as Rice on Bush's team. |
