'education' has little to do with a REAL Job.. Education is not the magic bullet it is billed out to be. It's all about work ethic and commitment. Which is what one has to have to obtain an 'education.' But what the 'educated' don't seem to understand is one can have or obtain this same quality of work ethic and commitment with out formal schooling and make equal if not more money.

IF education were the only Key to success then success would not be possible without it.

Here's an idea.. Rather than try and make everyone a chief out of the gate, how about let's train up some Indians and make them earn the higher pay/better job.

Actually, I have, when I had A small Roofing business. I used to hire a lot of guys like that. As long as they showed up for work, (sober), could read a tape measure, help carry shingles up a ladder, and knew how to use a nail gun, I had no problem with them. I would hire them by the job, anywhere from one to three days per, at $100 a day.

My father in law is a roofing contractor. He has 5 crews working for him 4 or 5 guys per crew. One guy speaks english. One out of roughly 20 guys... Not that my Father in law will only hire Spanish speaking people... Typically he says those who 'speak English as their primary language' don't want to work. Not on roofs in Fl anyway.

It's hot as hell on a roof in florida.  I was putting up some solar in alachua county, and we shot the shingles with an ir meter.  This was deep into "fall" (a joke in the state for all yall non floridian types) and it read out at 140f. Good for the panels (water heater), bad for the installers.

Now if you will simple 'read' the report provided you will note there is currently about 200K difference in a life time salary with someone having a 4 year degree and someone with a basic high school education... Now factor in the collage loans and compounding intrest for that 'education.' and that 200K can twiddle down to one or two more years worth of salary...

MORE IMPORTANTLY If you look at how Edu-macation works for minorities (excepts for Asians) it's already a wash..

Training is education Drich. Now where are all these entry level jobs that provide OJT that you're so proud of? The jobs your refer to simply can't support the 2 million plus high school and college graduates that attempt to gain employment each Spring. Combine that with seniors working longer in jobs that traditionally filled by our youth and the problem is exacerbated.
