Good intentions -- how much do they mean to you?

RE: Good intentions -- how much do they mean to you?
I get you, Evie.
I assumed you were speaking of actual good intentions.

Not misguided ones

By the way, I'm fine with being called Evie again now. Or Hammy. Either is good Smile

Eh lol? I just said I'm fine with it.

I wasn't giving a hint. I don't give hints.

And some people go far beyond good intentions in that they are just such incredibly compassionate and empathetic people. It all means so much to me. When I know someone cares and they show it, it makes me smile. Sometimes it really is the thought that counts Smile

The thing is no one says they have bad intentions behind the actions they commit. At least, no one I know of. Plus, regardless of intention, what also matters is how the action itself affects me or others. One may have the best intentions in the world, but if their actions keep affecting others around them in ways that bother them, then people are not going to necessarily be happy about such actions just because of one's intentions.

This is why trustworthiness is so valuable.

That was self-admonishment.

I didn't think you were dropping a hint, Evie. Smile

I dunno why you're admonishing yourself though I like Evie again now. Anyone can call me anything they want I'll let them know if they bother me.

I feel extremely open-minded.

I think you're awesome Thena. I just absolutely adore dishing out genuine honest compliments to everyone I feel who deserves them Smile

I am here for everyone who wants me. My turtle shell is strong and tough.

The opposite of good intentions isn't necessarily bad intentions, IMO. Rather, I think if someone ''only'' has good intentions, but doesn't act on them...who cares? If someone has a ton of money for example and they had good intentions to help out the homeless, but they didn't...their intentions while good, didn't really matter in the end. It can also be a way for people to never act on it, and just say...''well, you know I had good intentions, riiiiight?'' lol

I understand the point of the OP, but good intentions by themselves aren't enough. Blush
