How can a Christian reject part of the Bible and still call themselves a Christian?
RE: How can a Christian reject part of the Bible and still call themselves a Christian?
Why?  The truth of your position would no more make me a christian. I still think that you're half-assing our interactions. I;ve legitimately considered the offer that -you- make, in place of your god. I decline. So what now? To hellfire with me, or will you have to learn to live with my bitching for eternity? Heaven, suddenly, sounds decidedly less heavenly....for both of us.
I am the Infantry. I am my country’s strength in war, her deterrent in peace. I am the heart of the fight… wherever, whenever. I carry America’s faith and honor against her enemies. I am the Queen of Battle. I am what my country expects me to be, the best trained Soldier in the world. In the race for victory, I am swift, determined, and courageous, armed with a fierce will to win. Never will I fail my country’s trust. Always I fight on…through the foe, to the objective, to triumph overall. If necessary, I will fight to my death. By my steadfast courage, I have won more than 200 years of freedom. I yield not to weakness, to hunger, to cowardice, to fatigue, to superior odds, For I am mentally tough, physically strong, and morally straight. I forsake not, my country, my mission, my comrades, my sacred duty. I am relentless. I am always there, now and forever. I AM THE INFANTRY! FOLLOW ME!

I'm just stating what I believe and trying to back it up. I don't wish anything bad for you or anything like that and I surely haven't been treated with kid gloves in this forum either. I don't have the power to make you a christian. That's strictly between you and God and it's not up to me.

Like I said, invoking one of 600 Levitican strictures, the one  against the gay people makes me wonder why then ALL the laws of Leviticus aren't similarly active.  It's very convenient that there is this INCREDIBLE coincidence the only law in Leviticus that is still in effect 2000 years after Jesus is the one against the gays.  Is there a New Testament bible verse that spells that out ??

Invoke one, just one of those laws in Leviticus, then they all otta be in play.  The only thing the christers have is some PERSON in their organization, decided on their own, that they were duly authorized by God Almighty to pick and choose which ones are still worth enforcing to deprive other people their rights, and which ones the flock can safely ignore since oh my God, it would be SO INCONVENIENT to have to follow the rest of them ourselves!

We are no longer under any of the old testament law presented in Leviticus and I'm not invoking any of them.

Romans 7:4-6New Living Translation (NLT)

4 So, my dear brothers and sisters, this is the point: You died to the power of the law when you died with Christ. And now you are united with the one who was raised from the dead. As a result, we can produce a harvest of good deeds for God. 5 When we were controlled by our old nature,[a] sinful desires were at work within us, and the law aroused these evil desires that produced a harvest of sinful deeds, resulting in death. 6 But now we have been released from the law, for we died to it and are no longer captive to its power. Now we can serve God, not in the old way of obeying the letter of the law, but in the new way of living in the Spirit.

Would a denomination that as matter of their intrinsic dogma, which selectively invokes portions of Leviticus then be a false religion ?
The granting of a pardon is an imputation of guilt, and the acceptance a confession of it.

Oh come now...ofc you do.  It would be  a betrayal of everything you stand for, upon entering heaven....to see me, pissed as hell...to even be there.

Do you expect to see me, as I am, in heaven, in eternity? Don't fuck around..this is your religion, it's serious business...or so you've been telling us for centuries..........

I'm an ender of men. A non-believer with sinful appetites, who does not accept the vicarious redemption of your christ or your god...whom I consider to be amoral pissants. Tell me, what do you expect, for me...and how would you feel upon meeting me in heaven?

Mind you, in this..... my very name means "hammer of god" (and trust me...I've lived up to it)...are you sure that you, between us, is the one that has all this shit right? I want to see you own who you are and what you believe, for what it is, before we move an inch...beyond where we are, you and I...together.....

A religion is a group of fallible people who share common beliefs. If a denomination claims to believe in salvation through faith in Chris, who died for them and rose from the dead, then do have the truth of salvation. They may be wrong in some matters, but they are still not a "false" religion. If they deny Christ, then I believe they are false. It's really hard for me to declare if a certain religion is false when they claim to follow Christ.

I'm a sinful man who has put my faith in Christ and his Spirit lives in me. You believe that there is a god and you think I'm full of crap. I think that those are two true statements. I'm not sure if you'll be in heaven (or rather the "new earth" as the bible describes it), but if you are you will be a believer. You will still have the history that you have now, but you will be changed. Your past will not be considered because you will be covered by the sacrifice of Jesus. I'm just not sure what you want me to cop to.

I -don't- believe in a god, you un-mitigatable asshole.  You can't help yourself...can you? I'm simply trying to explain to you -why- my belief in a god is an irrelevance. If I find myself "covered" by jesus...it will be a disappointment in the divine. The divine, in that case..is even worse than the mundane. Even "sinful" human animals don't do that shit. We don't accept that vicarious defense.

We must accept that we are sinners and need to be covered by the sacrifice of Christ. This is true no matter what religion we are or whether we have read the bible and know what his biblical name is. If we try to be the best and most and most moral person in the world, we will do many goods deeds, but we will not be with God for eternity.

Does your designation of "sinner" mean anything -other- than those who disagree with you?  Some sin, some sinner. The sacrifice of christ? Now that...was a fucking sin. Here you are, though, washing yourself in the blood.

What room do -you- have...to speak about "sin"? Have you been empowered as such? Does your name appear in the gospels? Thought not. Pack it up, charlatan. You're a fraud by your own standards.
