I've seen people with white canes and yielded to them.
Not any in maybe the last 10 years, but many since being licensed in the early 70s.
The granting of a pardon is an imputation of guilt, and the acceptance a confession of it.

I got my driver's license in 1977 and I have never heard of white cane laws. I guess there was less awareness of visually-impaired individuals back then.
Yeah. The ADA was only signed in 1990. Blind laws specifically? Not sure the history of that.

Actually, I had never heard of White Cane laws until you mentioned it BQ.
In general I try to avoid running down people in crosswalks whether they have a cane or not.

In California, it's illegal to ride a bicycle on a sidewalk.

They don't have to be walking on a footpath, they can also be walking on a shared bike path - that's where the danger is.
