@Vic
Yes, I'm a big fan of Angela, have seen her live on some occasions including in her home town of Cologne, and also think she's really cool as a person, and I was shocked that she quit the stage. Noone comes near her power. At least AE has Loomis now, and on the instrumental side they are as great as they have ever been in my book.
That being said, I closely followed The Agonist long before AWG changed bands and liked their albums a lot. So I could live with Alissa joining Arch Enemy even if she lacks Angela's absolutely vicious edge. Her fashion sense doesn't really fit into my idea of Arch Enemy either, but fine. I think The Agonist took a bigger hit, and I mainly regret the big Front woman swap because they seem to suck now. Don't get me wrong, Vicky P isn't bad at all as a singer/shouter, but their new album was so boring that I really wonder whether AWG was a more important artistic influence in The Agonist than I thought.

I had only heard a few Agonist songs before then, and I'm not any more of a fan now, so can't really say, but ditto on Alissa's image. It stands out in a bad way. But her growl's alright. I can live with it, but it sucks unutterably that Angela stepped down ._.
This may just be, aside from Death's of Painkiller, my favorite cover ever :

I'm a Metalhead that really loves Metal Core. I listen to:
A Day To Remember.
The Amity Affliction.
Bring Me The Horizon.
Beartooth.
Crown The Empire.
But I like all rock music in general except Dubstep Rock (Yes that amalgam exists) and Christian Rock.

Exactly why I have to go Team Angela.

Oh, I'm team Angela, no question. All I'm saying is that Alissa isn't a catastrophe for Arch Enemy. They will be able to go forward, make interesting albums and be successful with her, even if she isn't exactly a perfect match. And let's be honest, the last AE Albums were becoming a bit too generic, and War Eternal is at least a breath of fresh air in the songwriting department and lyrically. I hope they don't go soft at least, Alissa can have all her clean singing power metal nonsense with Kamelot

Lol.
Well, it's actually not that bad, if you like that sort of thing

At this point, I have to insert my obligatory patriotic pitch for HSB
