My Story

Well all my life i have been brought up a Christian.Going to Church and having a Grandfarther as a bishop and alot of Religious folk in my family.
But this one day i became friendly with a Girl(who is my GF) in my school who at first told me she was Atheist than a few weeks later said she was a Satanist and than the week after that she was a Christian. So she got me thinking about religion ALOT. I began to wonder if i was really cut out to be a Christian.

I thought to myself well how can i be a Christian if i'm Bi thats not aloud in the eyes of God, I also thought about a few others things which i wont go into. But this friend of mine told me that it was ok to be bi and a Christian. So what did i do ? I stayed a Christan but doing that i found alot of things i didnt like about it, So i searched and searched for another religion that i would fit into and i found Atheism.

I'm still not sure if Atheism is for me but at the moment its the one i'm experimenting with.
I have always hated having a label, and calling myself an Atheist is giving me a label so i dont refer to myself as an atheist.I'm just me.


But thats my story for now.

The "atheist" label is a pain.

But all it refers to is a disbelief in god (or gods)

Beyond that there is very little that unites us, there is such a spectrum of philosophy and politics that bear no relation to a belief in gods.

Most atheists would be skeptical, rational, logical, evidence based, but that's just a generalisation.

Someone could believe in pixies in the garden, but their disbelief in any god could label them atheist.

Another generalisation born out by this forum is that atheists tend to be intelligent and liberal, broad minded. You seem to fit the pattern.

I was brought up agnostic but became an atheist later on. Never had a religious belief.

Atheism is not a religion. Atheism isn't based on belief.

I am a thinker, Not a believer.

Another generalisation born out by this forum is that atheists tend to be intelligent and liberal, broad minded. You seem to fit the pattern.
