Now do it with a musket.
Why does anyone even need 12 rounds for any weapon?
"Its fun"? Nope, that only means you think it is fun.
Prove the need then it should be considered. But if it is for mere target shooting, your clip and gun should be either at home or the range, outside that no, you don't need a large capacity clip for anything. Public active shooters should only be dealt with by trained people.
I like you Gawdzilla if more gun owners thought like you the world would be a safer place. I think you take firearm ownership seriously, unfortunately I really think there are far too many who think "just because" and "no record" constitutes nothing ever going wrong, and that is simply lazy thinking and selfish thinking which is more likely to injure the user with that attitude.
Even with cars, I can remember my drivers ed teacher saying "you are driving a 2,000 to 3,000lb weapon. He didn't mean drive aggressively, he meant, keep your distance, keep your eyes on the road, and assume the other drivers will fuck up. But, if you are like some drivers, everything to them is about speed and enjoyment and "what could go wrong", and those drivers are far more likely to get a speeding ticket or crash.
Attitude about any potentially dangerous thing you might use requires not assuming a perfect utopia.
