Sorry about the loss of your mum, but as a great philosopher once said- "Shit happens".
My mother went braindead 18 years ago with thyroid complications so I gave the medics permission to switch her off, there's zilch I can do about it so I just let her go.
If our life is a holodeck program (as some scientists speculate), it was a case of "Computer, end program!" for her and the rest of us when we die..

PS- As for Jesus being "fictional" that's a highly debatable point, as he certainly ticked all the boxes for being an alien visitor just like he said he was, but sadly he got the same reception as other aliens..  -

No, scientists are human just like everyone else. What comes closest to infallible is the scientific data.

What a strange thing to think..since science is built around human fallibility entirely. No amount of experiments can prove a hypothesis, and it only takes one to disprove it. Pretty much all science can do is arrive at provisional certainty through a process of elimination.

OP, do you think that Jesus was beemed back up to the mother ship after 3 days of searching for him?
Now if the cave his body was put in had kryptonite in the rock, I can understand how the ship sensors had trouble scanning for his lifeform signature. That would make a lot more sense wouldn't it?
