Thanks mate but can you just clear something up for me?-
Atheists say the bible has been messed about with to tidy it up and make it look good, then in their next breath they say it's full of contradictions.
So why have the contradictions been left in? Minimalist quote- Our problem around here is mainly dumbfuck xtians.... not Buddhists.
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
There are good xtians and there are bad xtians, but the bads can't get under JC's radar..
He said- "Not all who call me "Lord,Lord" will enter the kingdom of heaven. Then I'll tell them plainly, I never knew you, get away from me" (Matt 7:21-23)
PS- The bads and fundies are my biggest opponents on the net debating circuit, they can't handle the fact that I know the bible better than them and can humiliate them at every turn..
For example a 'Reverend' Eric Potts once said to me "You disgust me", but it later turned out that Potts is not a real clergyman at all, he's just a jumped-up 'Assistant Minister'.
My bet is he's the caretaker of their local meeting hall and they bestowed that lofty title on him to keep him sweet so he'll carry on slopping out their latrines.
Let's see...judgmental as shit, check. Up your own ass with your arrogance, check. True Christian, you are. The utter bastard would be proud. Only, you're not supposed to be, so he'd condemn you too. 'Cause he's a dick like that.
For fuck's sake, you'd think the people trumpeting this gospel shit would make it look immaculate and yet it's the most incoherent and obscene work of fiction ever produced. That there's no divine interference keeping it from being such a transparently man-made (meaning both printed by, and derived by) load of tripe just hammers home this fact. Your naivete notwithstanding, and your personal interpretation being as lazy as anyone here would expect, why is it you have to ask us these questions if you allegedly know so much?
Here's an analogy for ya. Ever see a movie that you were really looking forward to and it ended up sucking ass, because the studio was dead-set on interfering with it so as to maximize profits, only for their efforts to bite them in the ass? Same idea with the bible. Only, nobody could possibly have saved that truckload of excrement from getting struck by lightning and falling over a cliff.
Religions were invented to impress and dupe illiterate, superstitious stone-age peasants. So in this modern, enlightened age of information, what's your excuse? Or are you saying with all your advantages, you were still tricked as easily as those early humans?
---
There is no better way to convey the least amount of information in the greatest amount of words than to try explaining your religious views.

You must have missed another post of mine where I pointed out that Jesus said his young cousin John was the "greatest man ever to be born".
John was a hippyish world-rejecter living rough in the wilderness, sometimes going in town to yell insults at the snooty priests and corrupt rulers, so i dunno where you get the idea that christians are supposed to be squeaky-clean goody two-shoes!
PS- I don't go to church so am not a christian in that respect, but I like Jesus, John and other rebels because I'm one myself, I was expelled from school for "not trying", and was later jailed for 3 months on a vigilante rap..

Isn't it amazing that none of the historical documents of that time - no Roman histories, no Roman records, make any mention of the two "greatest men ever to be born". (lol)
The Romans documented everything. Yet, the only documents (the oldest written over 70 years after the demise of these "greatest men") to mention them are books in a ridiculous collection of old fables.

Think "politics" mate..
As christianity began snowballing in popularity after Jesus's execution, the snooty priests and Romans said "Oops quick, SHRED all the documents implicating us, or we'll have a Jesusgate scandal on our hands, let's airbrush him out of history and people will quickly forget about him!"

Good one. Can I have some of whatever you're smoking? Boy, do you ever need to study your history. Thanks for the laugh.
