Hm not sure... maybe either Kim Jong Un or whatever Islamic terrorist leader is causing the most harm right now?

Honestly, just whatever person in the world is currently responsible for ruining/killing the most lives.

As for why, because my killing them would be like a defence of innocent people, which is the only time killing is justifiable.

Has any argument presented (here or somewhere else) managed to make you question certain things from your religion?

When do you come visit Europe?

Honestly I don't think there is a lot of diversity on the forum. I know there are people here from all over North America and Europe, but it seems most people nonetheless have the same views on most things, despite being from different countries/cultures. There are a handful of people who are "outliars", like the few theists here, and people like Bella, CaptAwesome, PaulPablo sometimes, that one Republican atheist whose name I forget, and maybe a couple others im not thinking about. Other than that, everyone else seems to be of the same mind on things that matter. Interesting question though. What do you think?

This is your thread! Tongue

But yeah, I think each person here has a unique view of things. Sure, many of us lean to the European socialist model in terms of politics. But I see people from the UK, a mostly atheist (or non-careist) region of the world, who still come by and talk about things. They have their own culture, not just European, but also as sufferers of an near eternal rainy season.
The Portuguese adore their foods.
The Ozzies have their daily battles with indigenous wildlife.
In the States, you can tell differences between the states themselves - CD from the northwest, calm and enjoying his trees and leaves; mooney and you in Texas more driven to get out of the heat; joods in the northeast with her social life and cool jobs...
Aroura now in Germany is getting that culture shock!

There are lots of tiny things we don't even think of as cultural... from the well known height of water in the toilet, to the way we dispose of our trash, to how we move around town and go shopping, to the types of foods we have available.

I mean, there have been some good questions asked here about my faith that have made me search deeper for answers, and in doing so I've come to a deeper understanding of my faith. But it's never made me have more doubts than I normally would have.

Cool.

May I make a suggestion that combines both? Big Grin

Hmmm... I see a lot of poop talk in this thread for some reason Big Grin

I was in San Francisco with my kid yesterday and it happened to be Fleet Week - we saw a lot of cool Navy jets doing tricks right over the bay. Is Mr. C_L in the Navy? Is he in SF for the weekend?

He's an air force pilot, not navy. Smile

But he's at a bachelor party at a friend's lakehouse this weekend.

I disagree with him about the mushrooms....sauteed with Marsala wine they make a delicious sauce for chicken and steak.  Otherwise, he seems pretty cool.

He's cool with everyone else, based on what I've seen. But has been extremely nasty to me, on a personal level, ever since I first joined. No reason for me to like someone who talks to me like shit. He's the only person I have blocked I think.

I would agree with that. I love mushrooms.

4 more questions!
Did you initially ask your husband not to go for the bachelor party?
Why didn't I come to your mind when somebody asked about diversity?
Why do you always talk about something so gross like poop, do you do this irl also?
What do you think about skydiving?

No, I encouraged him to go... as much as I hate being left alone for yet another weekend.

I guess because I haven't seen you in many of the controversial threads in a while. My apologies. Smile

Yeah, I make poop jokes in real life as well. Why? Because poop is freaking hilarious, and because it's the one thing every single one of us has in common. We all poop. We should unite in our similarities.

I think it's scary and dangerous and would never do it nor ever allow my husband to do it. Sometimes I wonder if taking incredible risks on your life for no reason other than "fun" is kind of immoral.
