I think morality is like every choice we make in our life there is a option for us to choose either this or that or something else but if we are a truly good person we will only choose the right course of action. Morality is like a tool given for us to remind us what is the right path and what is the wrong path, so even if someone takes the wrong path they can be reminded to go back to the right way. I think it's a good thing and if we keep following the right way we will eventually end up at a better place.

This is the problem in the world in my view. They make morality as a tool to suit their needs and don't recognize what it truly is. While it is a spirit from God we are all connected to. During Jesus time it was Jesus, when Jesus ascended, it was Elyas (Elijah) who was born before Jesus, and when Mohammad was sent it and ascended to the highest and holiest place of prostration in the sky, he became the leader.  We are to be at service of this light, because it is the chosen leader and guide.

I find the bible is more explicit that it is a spirit from God than even the Quran which does state it but in more subtle way. For example, Jesus explicitly said he was the light of the world, and said some else holding this position would be sent after he leaves, and that even during their waiting period of that sent Messenger promised, they would be guided through someone who was the holy spirit and light of God to the world as was Jesus that during his time.

In fact, Jesus explicitly states he is the way.  When we don't recognize this leader from God and make use of his light extending to us and his commands and advice for our sake, when we make it a tool for ourselves, as opposed to ourselves a tool for the light and prefer the leader from God over ourselves,  everything goes wrong, because our priority is unbalanced.

We will use of the light and mix with it darkness.

I want to know how you interpret the following words of Jesus:

"I am the light of the world" "I am the door and the way..."

"I have been sent with the sword of God..."

With what the holy spirit is.....

It seems to me that the holy spirit was Jesus, but that as the holy spirit on earth had predecessors.

Who was the light of God and holy spirit of God on earth before Jesus? Who was the holy spirit after him? And who is the promised one to be sent that is predicted to also an instance of the holy spirit?

I'm not sure to be honest, I don't think I can put it into words either because the change is how I feel so it is like an experience not like I changed this, this and this about myself etc. It's like when I went to church I felt a different energy of sorts so it's more positive, more optimistic, obviously I'm nowhere near perfect, it's not like I went to church for weeks and completely changed but I'm still trying to "get there". I feel like if someone start praying and going back to church etc the change will be automatic, it's gradual but I know it's happening because if I met the previous me like say a few months before I wouldn't like him at all not because of anything else but mainly because the path of the previous me was going to take me to some bad places but the path am on now will take me to good places. Small changes but big results. I felt like I found hope, or meaning or a belief that God has the ability to forgive and forget so even if I've went down a particular road it's still okay to just go back. I don't talk about this irl because of negative and overly positive response(so it's good that I got to talk about it with you thnx), I'm going about this "journey" alone in my own pace but I feel like I have someone close to me with only MY best interests at heart so it's reassuring, positive, etc. It's kind of embarrassing because even though I feel the change I still know very very very little about my own faith so I'm also trying to learn so I guess the change also made me somewhat curious to actually know and learn about many things.

Is it this?:

Did god put it there?

I don't think it's that one because ours look a lot different. I don't know if God put it there but I know God intended it to somehow end up there, somehow be found and somehow end up at our church. I don't think that's coincidence.

I know you said you don't want to go into detail regarding your experience, but if you don't mind sharing, I'm curious to know what caused you to almost lose your life. Sickness? Accident?
"Of course, everyone will claim they respect someone who tries to speak the truth, but in reality, this is a rare quality. Most respect those who speak truths they agree with, and their respect for the speaking only extends as far as their realm of personal agreement. It is less common, almost to the point of becoming a saintly virtue, that someone truly respects and loves the truth seeker, even when their conclusions differ wildly."

I don't know if seeing myself as a instrument for God is a correct thinking but I wouldn't mind it at all either. I think the purpose of many things that's happened in the past like the crucifixion was to remind us of just one single thing and that is love. Love ourself, love our neighbors, love our brothers, love our sisters, forgive, don't harm others etc I think those are the values we should follow but if God wanted to we would've only gotten one single option "just do this", no free will. I think the free will we got is a gift and it shows just how much we are loved that our creator would risk tainting his own creation just so we can have freedom, or it could be like a test because freedom will bring our true selves to light, like if a person is really poor he will be very nice and stuff to others but if he won a lottery(like getting free will) then he has a choice to either keep being nice or suddenly deviate towards a negative side.

I think this :
Quote: "I am the light of the world" "I am the door and the way..."
Means that Jesus was trying to say he is the son of God and he is speaking on behalf of his father. "I am the light of the world" must mean like I will put an end to darkness. "I am the door and the way" must mean that if we follow his path we will achieve light and also remove darkness that clogs every human tbh

Quote:"I have been sent with the sword of God..."
the usage of sword really stood out, using that must mean "to cut down" I think probably evil. Just guessing.

I prefer to not sorry because nobody close to me even knows something like this happened(I don't talk about these things with others) this forum is the first place I'm even sharing there is something that happened and I especially prefer not to share specifically in a atheist forum because that experience is close to my heart and more personal so if I put it out there some people can sort of dissect it something I don't prefer sorry

RE: Ask a former atheist
What do you think about Pope Francis having the Quran read at the Vatican? My mom (evangelical) says that Pope Francis is probably the Anti-Christ. Why is Pope Francis putting all the idols together (religious symbols) and trying to unite people of different faiths?

My mom says he's trying to put together the one world religion. What the Pope is doing seems pretty unbiblical to me. The Bible doesn't say to welcome other religions like Islam and have their religious texts read in the church. My mom even told me that God spoke to her and gave her the message "the two horns have risen" lol. She thinks the end of the world is very near.

You are correct.  He created us to know one another which is love, he created us to know him which is love, and he connected us all together through a mystic link known as love.

And highest form of love is to appreciate, and may God guide our hearts to appreciate ourselves, others, and the chosen ones and guides, his revelations and books, and make us appreciate the Praiseworthy, Majestic King, God lord of the worlds.

The 2nd phrase is a beautiful way to look at it.

Love is beauty in it's secret interior, love loves beauty, but at the end outer beauty is just parables in math form of balanced interior beauty, which is but love.

You said in your words what some people take a life time to discover.

I don't know to be perfectly honest though I'd like to see what their explanation is as to why they did it. The whole anti christ thing is scary, I used to get nightmares from that passage, I still remember a older cousin sister reading it to scare me and me closing my ears shut because it's too scary for me,another scary thing is a song we sing at the funerals.
