The wife was all over me to smoke one of our turkeys. I wasn't having it. Then it turns out that leaving it in the freezer for over a year wasn't such a good idea, and I got off the hook. Trash pick up is Monday. That's gonna be nice and ripe by then.

Thanks for the best laugh of the day.

Just let me go on record with the fact that I didn't buy that turkey. She got it cheap last year by buying a bunch of other groceries, and just left it in the freezer. It should have been cooked many months ago. Gonna have to put a Shell No-Pest Strip in the barrel to keep the fly population down. It was 80+º today, so they'll be out in force, doing what they do best.

My husband however has made a lot of food already including pumpkin pies, cranberry bread, and amish bread. Tomorrow morning he will take the unenviable task of getting up early and putting the turkey on to cook. Luckily he doesn't have to cook much more, because our guests will bring the side dishes.
Nice to know I'm not the only poor pussy whipped bastard.

I hope you didn't just suggest Divinity's breasts were like plantains. That wouldn't be so nice especially after all the shit she hears from that bitch her ex hooked up with.

What did the flies ever do to you? Can't they be thankful and hungry also?

Yes, sorry not to have made that clear. Pretty sure everyone knows you're too nice guy to have said that.

Ok, our litte Thanksgiving potluck is back on!
Making chicken schnitzel with homemade gravy, kloesse, which are like mashed potato dumplings, and red cabbage. I'm also providing fresh rolls and both, glüwein which is spiced wine with rum or fruit juice, and some gewernstemeiner white wine.
Others are bringining sweet potatoes, green beens, a selection of beer, and a couple of deserts. I hope this very non traditional feast turns out ok.
Happy Thanksgiving stateside folks!

Well, the day has come and we're headed to the casino. Probably the native american one. Ya know, that whole reparations chestnut. hehehe
Edit: I wanted to add a really bad joke and then stopped. So unlike me. What's happening?

Oh, they can have it! That's their nature. But we're bound to get some in the house, and that's annoying as hell.
