I don't think there's any denying that Democracy is obviously much better than communism, come on...
"Of course, everyone will claim they respect someone who tries to speak the truth, but in reality, this is a rare quality. Most respect those who speak truths they agree with, and their respect for the speaking only extends as far as their realm of personal agreement. It is less common, almost to the point of becoming a saintly virtue, that someone truly respects and loves the truth seeker, even when their conclusions differ wildly."

It is but of course there are other dimensions to be considered. What role should government play? How much power and to what end?

Communism is great for the persons who are most equal. Not so much for the rest.
If you get to thinking you’re a person of some influence, try ordering somebody else’s dog around.

Of course that is more and more true in the US as well, whatever you want to call our system. We seem to be as prone to extreme income inequality as Russia.

Oddly enough, that never happens in republics.

By the way, my state is ruled by a communist party. Here "Progression" that is preached by many other parties means taking away reservation, subsidies and such for minority groups, economically backward communities, lower caste people, people of tribal communities living in absolute crap environment etc.
Also, granted Cuba wasn't perfect under Castro it still accomplished a lot. They made a lot of progression in health care sector and educational sector. It is said that Cuba used to have at least a quarter of her population illiterate but now they have almost 100% literacy rate and their healthcare is one of the best in the world(and free!!). Free education, free healthcare, free housing(I think), free rations(probably), no taxes......c'mon..a lot of advancements have been made but it's not perfect. Like every other system implementation matters just as much, don't blame a system for its poor implementation. I forgot another thing which is the life expectancy of Cuba, it is one of the highest in the world. Not saying it's in the best state but calling it a complete failure is a severe misrepresentation.

I think you're wanting "progressive" rather than "progression". I use Google at lot to tell me if I'm using a word right.

Oddly enough, it's the reverse in the US.
