Where were you when 9/11 happened?

RE: Where were you when 9/11 happened?
I was in my senior year of high school. In art class. Another teacher walked in our classroom and said a plane hit one of the towers. So everyone looked at the window in shock as we saw one of the towers in smoke. Then after the second plane hit, it become more obvious what was going on. Our school was locked down after the second plane hit. People were surrounding the radio to hear what was going on, while others were watching from the window glued in shock. I imagined it effected almost everyone in our school in some way. We were close to it. My brother became afraid of heights after that, while i was having nightmares about it afterwards.

I was watching the pokemons in my digs at college (only one class that day and it was over) when the drummer from my flatmates band came rushing in shouting about it. I turned over to the news just in time to see the second planen.

I was living in Emerald, Central Queensland.
I'd just got home from the nightclubs and was blind drunk.
I remember thinking to myself that this might be a big deal.

I was in London(UK) and the Tv was on in the background, I wasn't really paying attention. I remember seeing a plane hitting the building and remember thinking "Oh, another American movie" until realising it was the news program.

I was in a car with a friend whose mom was driving - we had just left hockey practice and heard it on the radio.

Very vivid are those memories, in fact.

I was at work, one of the people in the next office had a tv and he'd keep popping saying "you'll never guess what's happened now!" it was relentless that day.

I had slept in that day, my wife was at work. I woke up 1/2 hour after the last tower fell. We were living in central Va at the time. The factory she was working at immediately shut down and the let everybody go home. It was a shock to everyone, even though I only saw the recorded video after the fact.

I'd say thought the most chilling thing I did see in person was weeks later, ran into a woman from NYC who did witness it first hand and the fear on her face while describing it. The other thing that happened was running into a Muslim woman and she was by herself and when I approached her I saw the fear in her eyes, she thought I was going to attack her, but I simply told her not everyone in America will blame all Muslims for what those attackers did.

In my sixth grade classroom, and all of a sudden, the teacher decided to turn on the tv to show the WTC on Fire.

In 7th grade art class. Since we were next door to the largest military post in the world we got put on lock down for the day. They thought that if they were targeting the Pentagon we could be next.

Mine were just worried that they’d take out the Sears Tower.
