A friend in Swaziland suggested "hyporeligious" as an alternative. Avoids the "A" word and confuses people at the same time. A win-win for people with a preference.

Don't like saying "I'm an atheist"? Try this instead.

Nah, I don't like that at all. 'Hypo' means 'beneath'. 'Beneath religious' doesn't really describe me.

That's one meaning, but "less than" is also a meaning. Quote:hypo- or hyp- A prefix that means "beneath" or "below," as in hypodermic, below the skin. It also means "less than normal," especially in medical terms like hypoglycemia. In the names of chemical compounds, it means "at the lowest state of oxidation," as in sodium hypochlorite.
But even with that definition, it implies some aspect of religiousity. 'Less than normally religious' could only be taken to mean that I am somewhat religious, just less religious than normal.

Well, if you like Latin prefixes, why not...
Above ... Supra-religious Without ... Sine-religious Beyond ... Ultra... "Are you religious?" "No, I'm beyond all that nonsense, I'm Ultra-religious." The PURPOSE of life is to replicate our DNA ................. (from Darwin)
The MEANING of life is the experience of living ... (from Frank Herbert) The VALUE of life is the legacy we leave behind ..... (from observation)
"Baby eater" works for me.
The granting of a pardon is an imputation of guilt, and the acceptance a confession of it.
