You haven't yet answered any points thus far.
Extraordinary claims require extraordinary evidence - Carl Sagan

Mankind's intelligence walks hand in hand with it's stupidity.

Being an atheist says nothing about your overall intelligence, it just means you don't believe in god. Atheists can be as bright as any scientist and as stupid as any creationist.

You never really know just how stupid someone is, until you've argued with them.

You are correct, I am not a mistake. My parents had blissful extramarital sex and a few decades later voila! Whatever your gods plan for me is will have to wait until there's nothing left of me because I'm already booked up until the very moment of my death. Imagining that god has double vision explains a hell of a lot about the world around us. It's impossible for him to "give up on me" since he is omni-everything. He wrote the fucking script. I'm glad you aren't interested in conversion because you're arguments are possibly the weakest examples of missionary ideology I've ever encountered. I'm glad that you won't give up on me, I return the favor. That piece of me that wants to know love has children, so again, full up thanks. I never had to learn how to be hurtful to those different than myself, it's an evolved trait. Want to hear me talk in an uplifting manner, lets talk about people using reality based solutions to reality based problems. You'll find me very unbiased if you stop asking me to accept your particular bias as absolutely and unconditionally true. When I criticize your religion I am absolutely putting my place into the hearts and minds of the people that it has ended. Utterly ended. I am perfectly capable of loving people that I don't know without the aide of magic. If pressed I'd stand arm to arm to defend you from tyranny...which is exactly what I'm doing right now. Spend less time pitying me and more time questioning your faith.

If the Lord wants to be seen, I won't be able to stop him, so stop making excuses for a man you've never met.

You have a good night too.

Also, frozen yogurt is epic, and I absolutely would say any of this to your face, with a smile on mine.

Thanks for turning this one around on my Rhythm, you got me gooood. I mean, that comment on the end, you really showed me who is boss! Good work man. Smile

I agree.

Quote:the Lord allows those that serve him to suffer because it molds us, teaches us, fills us with hope and faith.

Having your child get cancer and die fills you "with hope and faith"?

Quote:This forum has been a tool for the Lord working in me.

Yeah. Sure.

Quote:I have already been able to witness to many because I have spoken to them about my discussions on this forum. I am being verbally persecuted, but I walked into it, and the Lord is using it to prepare me for the work ahead.

So "God" told you to come here?

Quote:Punishment denotes the Lord's wrath, but the Lord is slow to anger, his wrath hasn't been realized yet.

And you know this...... how?

Quote:Those who disobey him have the spirit of the enemy working in them, they suffer enough under his reign, but eventually the Lord will pour his wrath on the enemy (Satan) and them, every person will be made to answer for what they have done. It is only by the blood of Jesus that I will spared.

Sounds pretty delusional to me. You have any evidence to back up any of this nonsense?
Science flies us to the moon and stars. Religion flies us into buildings.

God allowed 200,000 people to die in an earthquake. So what makes you think he cares about YOUR problems?

Meh, I just figured that since all we're discussing are opinions here (unless you have evidence?) I might as well toss up my own as a bent mirror to yours. Through the looking glass, and all that.

He's going to explain things with stories about angel/human hybrids and fortune tellers, people rising from the dead or being flayed alive. Is this the kind of evidence you're after?
(sprinkle in some comments about the overall beauty of the message and its mysteries)
Thusfar Salty you've managed to assert your belief in talking animals, ghostly wars, the moral justification to absolute xenocide. Sanctioned genocide. Disproof of evolution by pointing to the existence of jews (wtf was that btw?) Vicarious salvation by dismemberment and/or torture from an eternity of pain and suffering. And of course through it all, the absolute and unconditional truth of every little thought that fell out of your head.

All of this on an atheist forum, what where you expecting? How often do you think we see this stuff? God needs better PR than you're capable of giving, and that's a fact.

If you want to have any success here you're going to have to address the dilemna of "those who were made so that they cannot believe", as has been so eloquently put by greater minds than myself.

That's because there is no answer that will satiate your desire to "understand" Christianity. If there was your questions would have been answered a long time ago. People who seek to understand, understand, people who seek to mock, misunderstand and mock. I agree, that's a big number.

I understand perfectly well. It's just unlike you, I want evidence. You cannot provide that. Also I don't presuppose anything like you do. Evidence first not baseless assertions. You don't have to believe in something in order to understand it.
Besides all religions deserve to be mocked. Such funny, strange and crazy beliefs.

There is nothing to "understand" salty

The abrahamic religions of which xtianity is just a minor death cult is solely based around the participants being good little slaves and not questioning what the "lord and master" is really up to. Reading that excuse for a 'holey text' is nothing more than a poorly written romance novel with all the blood and gore and misogynism, sodomy and brutality that a bunch of goat herders could come up with to make themselves feel good and delude themselves that they had some sort of history.

It is something to 'MOCK' because it is so stupid. You are the fool who does not understand. Should the holey texts be written today they would never be published (as holey texts) and you are a fool to think that they are something to base your life around. They are bronze age fantasies that have no relevance in the 21st Century.

you're so sarcastic and crazy, it's hard to be angry with you, it's just really refreshing sometimes. sounds to me like you want me to agree with you, but at the same time you don't want to lose the fun of having me around to ridicule. You ask for evidence for my beliefs when you know so well, and admitted several times, that you have no desire to ever bow to a higher power whatever the name. So what is your purpose here, "sharing your opinion"? You just like messing with people, you're like my co-worker, you and I would get along just fine.

"Understanding" xtianity is quite easy.

Its just that even with understanding it remains a ridiculous doctrine.
