AF Biggest Loser/Fitness Challenge-May 3 to Whenever We're Not Fat Anymore

I'm an L in China, an M in Europe and an S in the US.... go figure!

I can usually get by with a medium or large men's shirt (don't get me started on the ghastly fare available in the women's department), but outfitting the lower body is a total crapshoot.  Just got a pair of jeans that were customized in-store -- they started out as 46/32 to fit my thighs, but got hemmed and taken in at the waist and are more like a 38/30 now.

I've certainly noticed that too.  Women are so variable in the way they distribute adipose tissue.  For me all the extra weight goes on my waist.  So it is all about the waist size.  Though when I was wearing a 44 waist I really hated seeing my spindly legs coming out of those cavernous shorts.  I'm at a 38 currently and I doubt that I'll get lower than a 36.  But who knows?  Now that I'm working out a lot maybe a 32 like in high school is possible?  (Doubt it though.)

Strangely, I'm like a woman when I gain weight. It all goes to three main areas: my stomach, my butt, and my thighs.

I would like to have what she's having!  Well done, Jenny.
You can have what I'm having. Why not?

I'm eating only between the hours of 12:00 and 20:00. Which is to say only eight hours a day, and at least a couple hours before bed. Water, black coffee, tea and other calorie free liquids any the time.

Breakfast: Black coffee.

Lunch, a green salad of some combination of spinach, kale, lettuce, and/or cabbage. I top it with cheese, meat, boiled egg, and perhaps olives, grilled artichokes, avacados, capers, or Kim chee. I'm very generous with toppings. Add an oil and vinegar dressing that's high on oil and low on sugar. Sometimes I have a glass wine too.

Cappuccino or latte or coffee in the afternoon. A few nuts, a cheese stick, a few squares of 80 to 100 % chocolate if I'm hungry

Dinner, lots of low carb veggies, a meat, green salad, and sometimes more cheese. I try to limit sugary sauces but every so often something like duck la orange sneaks into the menu. Sometimes I have a glass of wine too.

No, bread, pasta, rice, potatoes, carrots, or parsnips.

Occasional beans and yams, fruit. Diet soda less than once a week and only during my eating window.

I am eating well over 2000 calories a day. And every month or so, I cheat at one special meal and have bread or pasta, fill dough, cheese cake, or some other thing.

I exercise one hour five days or more a week: walking with elevation gain and loss; biking; the rowing machine; or yoga.

That's it. For context, I've been trying to lose weight without success for ten years. The only result was that I both fat and hungry. This regimen is the result of setting two week experiments and tweeking them until the weight began to come off. It's stopped coming off, but I'm fine with where I am weight wise. I'm still building endurance, flexibility and muscle.

It helps that Mr. A is eating the same way.

Sounds like the way Terry Crews fasts every day and only eats at certain times.

Yah, intermittent fasting is popular right now. I prefer to think of it as an eating window. It's easier to stick to it that way.

Thank you. Its been six months now, and it still feels overwhelming to me. I feel younger, lighter on my feet, better balanced, more worthy of respect, sexier, prettier, safer, more sure of myself. Some of that is silly, but true none the less. I wish my sense of self was less bound up in my looks and weight.

I am sure I've added to both my longevity and quality of life. Nothing silly about that.

Your welcome.

I don't think any of it is silly. I felt many of the same things when I lost weight.

I think it's just cause she is so little, once her newness wears off I think I will welcome the time to myself that isn't work or taking care of a kid lol Once I get to that point my husband has a great schedule to allow me to go to the gym so it's just a matter of being able to be away from Charlie Bear. Even still my weight is pretty good so I have a bit before I NEED to go to the gym.

I see. Yes, from what I've seen you look fit.

She's fit in the literal sense... and in the British slang sense Wink

Ok I reread your post. Sorry if I came off as kind of shallow. Our sense of selves should not be bound up in our weight. My bad.
