At the start of a relationship usually 3 to 5 times a week, at least. As the relationship progresses it usually drops down to a couple of times a week and stays at that level.

Hubby and I average 2-4 x per week which is actually an increase in frequency from before we had kids. I guess It’s more exciting to do adult things when you spend most of your day watching Mickey Mouse and changing diapers, lol. It has been a nice way for us to have “just us” time after the kids go to bed, and also, it usually involves some wine for me, so that’s always a plus. 😁 I’ve never really had much of an interest in casual sex, or NSA sex. I don’t think there is anything objectively wrong with it; it’s just not my cup of tea. I don’t get that much out of sex unless there are feelings and commitment involved.

Sex means sex. It just depends on whom you’re doing it with. It can mean love, or not. It can mean fun. It can mean whatever it does to whomever is having it.
Yes, of course I like sex.
My overall outlook is that sexuality shouldn’t be treated as a dirty, taboo little thing, but should be celebrated and practiced (safely) in abundance as much as one should want as long as it’s between two consenting adults and you’re not cheating on anyone.

Ok you are sounding a little judgemental. My husband and I are two consenting adults, love each other very much, and we try new stuff together all the time. Doesn't mean we don't like to try new stuff solo. There are some video games we both like, music we both listen to, movies, tv shows, hobbies, etc and there are ones we do by ourselves. To us this is no different. Just because you think a marriage needs to stay in the lines for thirty years doesn't mean all marriages have to.

It's not a must it's simply one factor. We tell each other everything that happens and we read the sext messages so it's not like there is an actual rush for cheating. It's more of a rush of doing something on the down low cause it's not something everyone knows. Sure I'm open about it on this site but in real life only one of my friends and two of his know. Once he was meeting this girl somewhere at a coffee shop (they were both texting me and she sent me pictures of them making out) and he saw a friend that knew he was married so he had to pretend he was just getting coffee innocently with her. Not because he was cheating and it would get back to me but because most people would judge us.

I'm not surprised just irritated. No one else here seems to be acting like my marriage is bad because it doesn't fit into their idea of one.

I've been celibate since the mid 90s. I had recurrent bouts with suicidal depression during most of that time, and decided that it would be unrealistic to put another person through the emotional turmoil of loving me through all that. I've been free of the suicidal impulses for several years, so I suppose I could return to relationships now, but I don't really want to do so. I've built my life around living alone, and am not interested in changing. So, I guess the answer is 0. But I do have a rich fantasy life.....

On average? That'd be hard to say. During the school year it's closer to 3x a week. Sometimes 1 or 2 if I'm particularly busy.

During the summer it's much more frequently. Sometimes three times a day. So maybe 5x a week on average?

For me, sex is about enjoying myself and making sure my partners enjoy themselves. I'm personally bisexual, so I enjoy the company of both men and women. My husband and I have a healthy open relationship, with our own rules. For me though, there's something intoxicating about smelling another woman's perfume on my husband. Especially the ones he's been with regularly enough for me to identify them by their perfume. I think people should find out what they like, and what works best for them. No two people are alike. I think people make way too big of a deal about what others do in their own bedrooms. Who cares, as long as it doesn't hurt anyone? If you're the type that's happy to have sex only for reproduction--go for it! If you're the type that wants to sleep with someone new every night, hey if that's your thing, it's your thing. Society shouldn't decide what is and isn't appropriate for you.
