RE: An alternative to deliberate fouls in basketball?

I find the idea of deliberately fouling to be itself a stupid part of the game (or any game). I'd prefer them to always be a technical foul. You should at least be making an effort to stick to the rules.
That would clean the game up in general (it happens quite a lot just to stop people making an easy score) as well as stopping this nonsense at the end.
The downside is that it would probably only be me watching.
