Welcome to the Hotel North Carolina.

Welcome to the Hotel North Carolina.
A case where the customer IS NOT always right.

So everyone knows I am getting my house replaced. So I am staying at a hotel in the meantime.

Anywho, so the clerk this morning tells me that someone had complained about a pool party late at night, although the pool closes at 9pm. I am a heavy smoker, plus I couldn't sleep because I am excited and worried about my new house. I was going out front about 2 times an hour to smoke, you can see the pool in the back through the lobby. I didn't see a damned thing or hear anyone. It was quiet all night. Now, while I don't feel sorry for the billionaires who own it, I know from experience having worked pizza delivery people will make a false complaint to get comped so they don't have to pay. The other thing, is if this poor clerk didn't have me as a witness, the upper management was going to take that person's night out of her paycheck. That complainer was trying to get a free night. There was nobody in the pool and it was quiet all night.

Wouldn't there have been security footage of the pool pandemonium?

Just that dead 4 year old floating silently all night . . .

More entertaining to watch than a plastic bag floating on the wind.

You'd think but no. The outside cameras cover the front entrance sides and parking lots. But yea, just for insurance purposes you'd think they'd have one on the pool area just in case someone tries to fake an injury.

Ok so just a few minutes ago, I walked out to smoke, coming down the stairs then to the hallway leading to the lobby. And right in front of me in the middle of the lobby, was black lady laying on the floor twitching violently with EMTs surrounding her. I can only guess, but my late mother had epilepsy. Overheard a family member or friend say, "She had 7 in one day before."

I passed them by went outside to smoke, and all I could think about was that I hoped the lady was ok, and it reminded me of my mom when I was a kid. Never easy to watch, even when you know what it is.

I love it when strangers play off of a joke you make and get it.

So just a couple minutes ago, I was outside smoking, and this thin black guy had on a neon orange shirt and blue jeans, I assumed he was in construction, but asked him what he did for a living, also told him I love neon colors. He said he wears it so he can be seen and not get hit by cars. Great idea. But turned out he was a county inspector of gas stations. So I joked with him, "Be sure to smoke around the pumps"...... He came back with, " I always do." Big Grin

Ok, so earlier I told you about the black lady who had the seizures? Well just now, I saw old fat white guy come out of her room, he was drunk off his ass, and she had spent yesterday  talking about her leaving her husband because he was abusive. So she was walking her dog with him, I went along, but this guy was spewing all sorts of tall tales about how he was going to be a millionaire getting a divorce from his wife, how he can get any women he wants, said he was 51, but look more like he was in his 60s. Bragged about having once had a boss who brought a kilo of coke to work. Then he went into how he hates everyone in his family besides his mom, and that they won't let him talk to his mom. All I could think was, "I can see why."

I won't assume as to why the guy was in her room I don't know. But while she was nice to me, he is the type of asshole you know is full of shit, and probably is full of shit even when sober. And right in front of her, he was talking about other black people he knows and said, "He's ok for a black guy"....... I fucking wanted to punch the asshole in the face.
