I'm failing to see the problem with this. I think many of our institutions do need fundamental reform, and what's the problem with realistic and pragmatic solutions?
Is that really the criticism? "What are you doing be so pragmatic and shit? We need to get emotional!"

It’s also the criticism, essentially. It’s just st a bunch of “it might not work really, really well.” Criticism if far right and left make that look laughable.

Some of the criticism is internal and some of it is based on criticizing it's core assumptions .But even if it does come from the far left or right that's a genetic fallacy .And no they are far from laughable and should be taken seriously as any other criticism .
