Later even US infantrymen learned to hanker down, use indirect fire to separate the tanks’ covering infantry from the leading rank of tanks, let the tanks roll over the defending infantry positions, then have the defending infantry pop up and hit the tanks from the side and the rear.

Shaved or unshaven?

Always unshaven.  No matter what it is you want to do with it, a bushy bush is best bush...but..fellas, don't ambush the bush, the bush is your friend. It gave you life and it will save your life..and, if you're lucky, you'll die surrounded by the bush.

(if you plan on making the bush your home..it's okay to trim the bush, gotta have room to manouver under and through the bush, so you can reach your hole.)

We were probably on the receiving end of that far more often in 1944.  The Germans did precious little attacking on the Western Front.

That's true, most of the engagements that AT infantry would have had were deep insertion, the principle remaining the same.  Ingress, concealment, and in situ ambush in support of the forward elements to the rear. Our tanks actually did very little of the anti tank work.

You won't get an exact count because a bazooka team, an AT gun and a TD will all claim a tank that just blew up.
