Cathooloo is all over this one. I have zero doubts that this is the beginning of a new chapter in his life.

I appreciate the concern and advice but benny's right. I got this. I've already made many if the lifestyle changes required. I went into this knowing it is a lifelong commitment to healthy living. It's merely a tool, nothing more. It gives me a much much greater chance of success but I know I still have to do the work.

I'm at 267 today. I have officially lost 101 lbs since I started and around 9 since the day before surgery.
Fun fact: I left the hospital about 8 pounds heavier from retained fluids than when I arrived. Overnight the first night home, I lost 10 pounds of water weight. I must have been up a dozen times. I've seen water weight come off fast before but not like that.

Haha, I did two once, but I was so skinny then, I wouldn't have noticed anyway.

Post day 6. Down to 264.8. I expect the loss rate will slow considerably. 8 more days and I'll advance to a very restrictive soft food diet until I can tolerate the also very restrictive lifetime diet.
I was a little surprised at how fast starvation has affected me physically and mentally. "Starvation" may seem too strong a word but under 200 calories a day is pretty brutal. In spite of all that I'm feeling really good about this.

Post day 10, currently at 260.8. Rate of loss has indeed slowed but is still very rapid. I'm getting close to water and protein goals. Thoroughly sick of this liquid diet but in four days I advance so I'll manage. I'm up to 300-400 calories per day, with 240+ being protein.
My plan is to return to work Wednesday or Thursday next week. Fatigue is still a problem, I'm hoping to improve by then.
