I made a mistake. I was thinking OLB when I read the post I quoted. Idunno why. I was eating dinner and my attention was more on my food, maybe.
If you get to thinking you’re a person of some influence, try ordering somebody else’s dog around.

Is setting off fireworks against the law in your area? Are you setting people's property on fire? If not, I'd just say that you are a pyrophiliac. Hail fellow well met!

Yes, they're illegal, but I live in a rural area where the cops are not concerned about people having fireworks as long as they're being used by responsible adults. During the 1980's and 1990's I used to put on semi-professional fireworks shows for the neighbourhood every 4th of July. There would be a big BBQ party next door with 50-60 people in attendance. This included some of the local police and firemen.

When I lived in Alaska in the early 90s, there was an old quarry that us 'powder monkeys' would go to and detonate all sorts of improvised 'fireworks'. And we did it year round. A lot of that stuff was far more powerful than anything that you could buy at a fireworks store. There is no way that we would be able to do that stuff now. We would probably be up on federal charges and be suspected of being terrorists and whatnot.
We do not inherit the world from our parents. We borrow it from our children.

I discovered, fairly early on in my life, that the bible is almost 100% wrong in its claims, history, science, and morality.

We should show some compassion and hold a group "exorcism" for her.

I think it is probably pretty much the other way around.  Razz
