I value empathy, and Gawdzilla has it.
Don't confuse being pissed off over important subjects as meaning being unhappy 24/7 every minute of the day.
I don't spend 24/7 talking about how uber cute my cat is, but then again, my cat has never gone on a killing spree.
I do focus on firearm violence because right now, it is an epidemic in our country. I don't see what is wrong in trying to get others to focus on a problem that needs to be solved.
The amount of firearm violence is harmful, unlike my cat who licks my ear every morning to wake me up so I will feed him.
Are you suggesting everyone trade their guns for cats?

I am not delusional. I hold no illusions that firearms can be 100% removed from society. But as pissed off as I get in some posts, I also know that I can't stick a banana clip up my cat's ass 32 stories up in a hotel and take vengeance out on country music fans. Just like I would not want someone whom hates ABBA to stick a banana clip up their Pit Bull's ass and take it out on bar, theater or school goers.
Pets are certainly safer than firearms.

Well, by god, that solves the problem.
psst - Never a good sign to feel the need to declare that you aren't delusional.

Delusional are people who put value on an object over safety and lives.
I put value on life, not objects.
So yea, between my cat and an AR15, and knowing my cat cant be used to commit mass murder, and considering a firearm doesn't lick my ear to wake me up in the morning. Not a hard choice to make.

A " banana clip"???
What 3rd grader taught you about firearms?
....
Not only do you not understand the terminology - you fail to demonstrate any realistic knowledge of tactics or capabilities.
Like - bump stocks --- there' s a reason that they have been used ONCE in mass shootings - because they are unreliable pieces of shit.
You piss down your leg worried about such trivialities as pistol grips, detachable magazines and bayonette lugs.
Realize this - the Los Vegas shooting would have been FAR worse - if had been an experienced shooter - with a bolt action - or even single shot - with a suppressor. The guy could have dropped dozens of people before they even knew a shooting was in progress. He could have stayed concealed and shot for an hour before anyone knew where he was.
But luckily - most mass shootings are done by uninformed morons - with " banana clips".

What a brilliant idea! Can't remember the last time I read of a person being killed by a domestic cat..
I think it was in the Film "The American President" (from which the series "The West Wing" was based) The Martin Sheen character says
"for reasons passing all understanding, the American people refuse to equate gun related crime to guns"
I won't do a comparison with gun crime in Australia, as it would seem as if I'm gloating, which I am not. America's gun culture and horrific number of deaths is deeply saddening. I have no easy solution. Australia's response to our last mass shooting , in 1996, probably wouldn't work in the US.

Excellent point - there IS no easy solution. It is primarily a culture thingy. Until USians decide that human lives are more important than their stoopid fucking Second Amendment, these shootings are going to continue apace.

No easy solution right now, but cultural yea. Far too many Americans worship an object.
