You know a lot about the NRA?

Most of what I know is publicly available information. How much money they lobby with, for example. How much money they get from gun manufacturers, which is frequently an amount per gun sold, which makes it appear that the manufacturers are mostly paying them to promote gun sales.

I was a member as a teenager and into my early twenties. They were getting a bit crazy, so I dropped my membership and never looked back.  I hear about the NRA on pretty much a daily basis, but only from their opponents. It is blindingly obvious that the NRA's fame and power come from those who give it so much publicity.

Those who claim "people like you(me)" need to stop harping on the issue, fail to understand the long term epidemic and the long term damage being done. 

Our volume of firearm violence should not be acceptable, it should not be normalized. This isn't a zip code issue, or a race issue, it is a problem in every state, not just urban, but also suburban and rural. If you do not face it long term eventually it can affect you or someone you know. 

So yea, I am with you Gawdzilla. I really cold care less if others are annoyed by how much I talk about it. I don't simply post here. I am on line every single day contacting local state and national officials as well as local and national media. It is a conversation that needs to be had every day. 

Just on tax payers cost alone, everyone should care. Every time law is called to even a suicide or domestic murder, that costs tax payers money. Even if the victim survives, that costs tax payers money, and even if they have insurance, the injury drives up rates for everyone. It isn't solely a safety issue, although that should be most important. But our firearm violence epidemic is a huge cost to tax payers in the billions every year.

That is like arguing, "Don't mention the rapist and they will stop raping."

No sorry, more people need to stand up to that industry and that lobby. Fear does sell, but that does not mean one should not stand up to that marketing. The long term goal is to take away the narrative, and silence isn't going to do that.
