Anyone who can spend hours waiting by the phone to help a panicked person get home whom is scared out of their mind, when they don't have to, when they don't make a dime off of doing such, and wont get rich or famous for doing such, is perfectly capable of telling the truth. Yes, he sat by the phone waiting for updates from me, trying to get home from Durham NC to the coast, after Hurricane Florence. My cell phone didn't have wi fi aps or GPS, and suffering from anxiety the news reports on road conditions changing every hour didn't help. Was I over reacting? Easy thing to claim when you don't suffer those mental illnesses. I got home because he didn't judge me. I got home, because he had empathy for his fellow human being. 

On the other hand, I find lots of irony in you, on the one hand saying you are glad I was not fit for service, also at the same time basically call me a traitor and a wimp. That logic makes no sense. If I run a platoon, why the hell would I want anyone in it to be a "wimp"? It seems pointless and even dangerous to have an attitude of shame or force to only put someone besides you who cant do the job when lives are at stake. 

I'd trust him long before I'd trust you. Just like I'd trust my best friend from Oklahoma whom owns firearms but isn't bat shit right wing crazy before I'd trust any far right worshiper on that subject. I'd be far more likely to jump in a battlefield trench with him, and no chance of me jumping in one with you.

I am suspicious of anyone who tries to slip their reply in without quoting or mentioning someone that they're obviously responding to. Reminds me of someone who can't look you in the eyes when they talk to you.

There are times when it is obvious who someone is replying to... but in general, I believe in using the quote or mention feature, or at least putting the person's name in my response.
