Sick as a dog.  Dayquil, tylenol, Cepacol, menthol cough drops, antihistamines -- it all does jack.

Time to start drinking.

Not that I advocate the method, but Samuel Pepys used to drink gin >.< until he was cross-eyed, and so, to bed, for a cold.

I had tickets for The Steve Miller Band at Ravinia tonight. Unfortunately, Dad's been going down with a bad stomach virus lately, and, between that, and the fact that, as I drove home from work, the temperature was in the nineties, Dad decided to call it off. To be honest, I'm actually kind of relieved. No offense to Steve Miller (I actually picked it from the Ravinia schedule), but, the thing is, sometime at the Counting Crows concert on Saturday, it really hit me that I have a packed week. The mornings aren't happening for me, the afternoons I have work, and, well, today, I'd have Steve Miller, tomorrow's my writer's group, Wednesday, I have my therapist, and Thursday's The Fourth (to be fair, there's no work, but what about the fireworks show?). Jesus God, is my schedule full. I feared that I would have no time for my weekly DVD allotment from the library. Well, at least I've got some more time this week.

Just opened a bottle of red. Finished the white, red is all there is now. Might have to walk to Aldi as I require some flour, bog roll and strimmer wire.

On the way to the writer’s meeting, I saw this for the first time since at least high school:



It took a while before I got something, because the truck was unattended. Apparently, the man driving the truck asked me about something, but I didn’t hear them, so I had to wait a few minutes while he went to Subway before I ordered a bubblegum popsicle. I was about to go to dinner/my writer’s group (right across the street) so I figured it would be a bit unseemly to get an ice cream treat.

Up early this morning. I'm getting up at 5:00 these days so that I have two hours for coffee and the forums, and then an hour for therapy work each morning. Gonna probably skip the therapy today. While I did get up at 4:30, I'm leaving an hour early to buy a big ass bottle of Tylenol.

Spent the afternoon lounging by the pool, sipping iced tea. Then realizing that I only have about a month of summer vacation left.

Just ordered an Everyman's Library edition of The Master and Margarita. Let's hope it arrives by July 12, because on July 13, Dad and I are driving up to Door County.
