I don't really see the show as anti white males. I see it as running a nakedly intersectional narrative with all of the subtlety of a sledgehammer. That straight white men have a naturally inferior understanding of things is the consequence of the nakedly intersectional narrative, and not necessarily the objective of it. My guess is that the writers are probably devotees of intersectionality and think that they are making it look good. I think that they are making it look comical in an unintentionally funny way.

Not everything is political.

I know I've missed making/posting my breakdowns of a load of episodes, but they've all been fabulously entertaining IIRC and just watching S02E13 after not watching one for months and it's soooo good here's the breakdown - I guess The Orville ages like wine!

So it starts out with miss slippy knickers AKA Jesus Christ (MSK from here on out) pointing out in the bar to the captain, to much all round laughter, that she can drink him under the table, complete with embarrassing anecdote at his expense ("hahahaha, pathetic man!" was my response: back in the mode).

The captain then professes his desire to get back with her, yet again, and is knocked back, yet again by MSK, reguiring his taking a stiff drink (pathetic man!) lolz.

The ship then hits some kind of temporal anomaly, and MSK's 7 year younger self (JC from here on out) incarnates. This is explained shortly after as being because of "quantum physics" - no surprise there lolcopterz hahaha.

JC and the captain start a rekindled romance, not before he asks MSK senior's permission first of course...and thanking her once granted lolz pathetic man - standard!

Some enemy ships approach and they leg it by engaging the "quantum drive" lolz. They catch up though - fortunately JC, in dialogue with MSK, fabricate a visionary genius level escape plan! Hooray!

Genius non-white crewman and robot Isaac find a way to send JC back to her own time, using a "quantum field" (lolz) but not before the captain has a chance to give her a groveling apology for his roundly dreadful behaviour during their marriage, which she's yet to experience hahaha pathetic man lolz.

The episode is also peppered with numerous other hilariously inept and crass attempts at "humour," "acting" and "plot" - really has to be seen to be believed IMO - priceless!

Don't worry buddy, the finale sets all things right in the world.  Turns out, if it wasn't for the straight white male the universe would have ended, and she realizes that she was a complete and utter bitch, and also dumb.

I think I have a couple episodes left in the first season to watch, but I've just not felt like getting back into it.

See you in more than a year because hiatus between seasons 2 and 3 is going to be 2 years. I mean I never get why some series take this long. I guess Seth Mcfarlane is thin on ideas. I mean this was supposed to be like a goofball show and yet it now takes elaborate ideas and storylines.
teachings of the Bible are so muddled and self-contradictory that it was possible for Christians to happily burn heretics alive for five long centuries. It was even possible for the most venerated patriarchs of the Church, like St. Augustine and St. Thomas Aquinas, to conclude that heretics should be tortured (Augustine) or killed outright (Aquinas). Martin Luther and John Calvin advocated the wholesale murder of heretics, apostates, Jews, and witches. - Sam Harris, "Letter To A Christian Nation"

Maybe someone could make a TV show spoofing Star Wars but then again maybe SW is already too much of a spoof. I remember re-watching "Spaceballs" few months ago and realizing how much it had in common with SW reboot, like Lone Star being a hybrid of Luke and Han and also an orphan who, turns out, is a prince.

Took a long break from the show, but I decided to finish watching the first season so that I can get into the second season.

Just started the Cupid's Dagger episode, which from the beginning seems to mirror our earthly conflict of the Arabs and Jews.
