Conversions from Covid-19

RE: Conversions from Covid-19
Just this morning my flatmates and I were talking about how obnoxious the church bells have been during the past 12 days of quarantine. Lmao I only see people turning away from the catholic church these days... Except, y'know, the hardcore rosary-thumping boomers

(oh hey guys I'm back)
"Every luxury has a deep price. Every indulgence, a cosmic cost. Each fiber of pleasure you experience causes equivalent pain somewhere else. This is the first law of emodynamics [sic]. Joy can be neither created nor destroyed. The balance of happiness is constant.

Fact: Every time you eat a bite of cake, someone gets horsewhipped.

Facter: Every time two people kiss, an orphanage collapses.

Factest: Every time a baby is born, an innocent animal is severely mocked for its physical appearance. Don't be a pleasure hog. Your every smile is a dagger. Happiness is murder.

Vote "yes" on Proposition 1321. Think of some kids. Some kids."

Your point?

In times of doubt, people don't flock to Christ - they flock to booty

The only conversions I'm concerned with from this pandemic are the conversion from living person to dead person.

Playing Cluedo with my mum while I was at Uni:

"You did WHAT?  With WHO?  WHERE???"

How lucky that your job is also your hobby!

I wonder if during this time of fear, worry and anxiety, people might turn to Christianity in droves.

As in, they might dust off their bible and search for answers in it. Maybe they will cry out to God their father and beg Jesus to save them from the plague...

I hope that is the case..

What do you think? will people flock to Christ in this time of doubt?

Like with the trenches of the Western Front, I wouldn't be surprised if this latest scare causes more de-conversions than conversions (and likely the conversions will be intra-faith ones anyway, along the lines of going from one brand of Southern baptist to another).

Nothing shows the futility of religious belief like an ongoing disaster. Because if god were so powerful, why didn't he stop the death and suffering?

The idiots that survive will be preaching "God's Love!" Must have been something wrong with the deaders.

God's aim is lousy, that's why.  He doesn't seem to be able to punish sinners without massive collateral damage.  Sort of like burning down the house to fix a squeaky hinge.
