What do I think? I think it may result in fence-sitters either deepening their convictions or letting go of the idea of an omniscient God. It's a comfort to some in a time of crisis to trust in God to take care of you. 

I can't say I hope people do or don't, as it's not my business. I do hope that everyone finds comfort in whatever way they can.

If you look at the Iranian outbreak it began in Qom and spread amongst pilgrims.
Italy is also well known for religious sites, it may be that the religious may the worst hit.
Far from pulling numbers up the virus might literally be religion's death knell.
