That doesn't speak to consciousness, we would say a sleeping person is unconscious, yet be off somewhere in a dream, being fully aware in this space to the point of remembering the experience, which shows there consciousness is somewhere, just not in body.

Someone asleep still has very clear & measurable brain waves. Besides, they're very much alive.
This all stops post-mortem.

Firstly, it shows no such thing, as your dream is entirely contained to your body - and secondly...you may have already employed a meaningful equivocation.
Have you ever seen a dead person do anything that would inform you that they are conscious, any of the things that living people do which inform you of the same? You asked me how I could know something..ultimately, the answer is the same way that I know anything else. You may disagree, but we shouldn't need to agree about what we know for you to understand how I know things.
Do you know of some other way to know things?

There have been cases of people undergoing brain surgery, having recollection of events that occurred while having absolutely zero brain activity.

You're willing to assert that people have done conversationally meaningful things.....while dead? Take your time. Don't commit in haste.

"So we will never see our loved ones again?"

Go news bub....
Being a whiney cunt isn't likely to convince anyone into believing in whatever flavor of "afterlife" woo you're pedaling...
Thought you should know..

What I have asserted is that consciousness doesn't required brain activity, therefore a person still exists while being for all intents and purposes 'clinically dead'.

-and that's an amazing thing to assert. We don't all believe you, as much as we might wish we did.
There's nothing that you can do to reduce or ameliorate this responsibility.

Not really, when you consider that an assertion is simply a statement with no supporting evidence or proof.
I assert that I am the Queen of Potsdorf.
See how easy?

Must we know address you as Her Majesty?
That may be all wrong - I seldom address royalty.
