'Seeking' God

That isn't what I said. I said you must not be familiar with the bible if you're shocked that *I* believe in demons, because it all through the bible and most Christians believe they exist. (November 1, 2011 at 2:00 am)Shell B Wrote: So, going back to my original point, believing in demons is slightly nuts. Believing you have seen one is totally nuts. "A meme is "an idea, behaviour or style that spreads from person to person within a culture."" As a Christian who has spoken to many atheists over the years, I have seen how different lines of attack against the bible, and Christianity in general spread between atheists . Atheists have a groupthink and generally spout the same analysis and misunderstandings of Christianity. (November 1, 2011 at 2:00 am)Shell B Wrote: So, you do not think that Satan is behind the Bible because the Bible told you that only the word of god can control demons and the Bible words can control demons? That is idiotic. How do you know that is not what the demons want you to believe? I know the word of God has power over demons. Basically, satan would have to be omniscient to pull off the kind of deception you're speaking of, and therefore would be God. I'll tell you what, if you can find one place where I said other Christians do not believe in demons, I will pray tonight. You're actually so obtuse that you didn't realize that I was pointing how crazy you are for thinking you have seen demons and that billions of other people talk to them. I did not say that you are an aberration. Could you discuss my actual arguments instead of the ones you just make up to draw attention away from the parts of the conversation you can't hack? The point is, this is what Christians believe. That Satan is the ruler of this word, demonic activity is widespread, and people who worship false Gods are worshipping demons. Your reaction was one of suprise and contempt..when these are standard Christian beliefs.. I never said I saw a demon, I said I have seen demon possession first hand. When you remove all other considerations, there are only two possible answers to the question 'Will my arms spontaneously fall off at 11am today?'. That's 50/50, ergo there is a 50% chance of my arms spontaneously falling off at 11am. Someone doesn't understand how odds work. It's not too surprising that it's you. Learn to read, lucent. Not if it can be replicated just as sincerely and with as much supporting evidence as the believer of any religion. Can you please tell me that you understand why? Your personal testimony is useless, because a Muslim/Hindu/Scientologist/whatever could provide the same in support of their religion. Like I said, you can't grasp the simplest idea. I'm actually really enjoying this thread now, because it has been revealed so clearly how idiotic you are. Great stuff.
How yall doin goin 'round the circle?? Dizzy yet?
...round and round and round and round and round ........
50/50 on God!
That seriously narrows the probability of Christianity. <1%?(generous) RE: 'Seeking' God

There is no logical reason to think your arms will fall off at 11am, regardless of what we are considering. Since we know the Universe began to exist, it is logical to believe it had a cause, due to the laws of causality. Either the cause was deliberate or not. Therefore, it is a 50/50 chance. You could easily attribute any sort of evidence I offer as either insufficient, or resembling the evidence offered by other religions. I have already told you that you can prove it to yourself and you have refused to do so. So, the ball is in your court. You interpret everything about me through your lens of disbelief in God. If God exists then virtually nothing you believe about me is true. You really have no way of determining what sort of person I am due to your preconceived notions and bias against Christianity. (November 1, 2011 at 3:16 am)5thHorseman Wrote: 50/50 on God! The reason I say this is that many atheists will claim the existence of God is not probable. I am noting that it is at least a 50 percent probability to start with. When you factor in all of the other evidence it is much higher, and to me a virtual certainty. Atheism, for all its boasting, has no way to lower that percentage. There is no argument for why atheism is true and correct. 'lucent Wrote:If only. More beautiful and soothing words you have yet spoken. If only you weren't lying to make it seem as if I had said something I did not. Nice try skirting the topic, though. I assure you, I am relentless. Point to a place where I said you were a rarity among Christians in that you believe in demons. I'm patient. I can deal with your attempts to wiggle out of being called out.

Sorry, that bs. The physics community used to have a large number of Diests. It doesn't now. Atheism is correct because you cannot prove god, there is no proof. None. Zippo. If there was a hint of proof all of science and all atheist would be Diests. RE: 'Seeking' God

You are literally batshit nuts, aren't you? You think that people who believe other than you talk to demons?" That is an expression of shock and disbelief at what I believed, as if it wasn't normal for a Christian to believe this. Yes, you also included this: "You have "seen" demonic possession?" But since you mentioned both you can't wiggle out and claim it was he only reason you displayed these emotions. I'm sure you had the idea that Christians believed in demons but didn't understand the logical implications of that until I elucidated it for you. (November 1, 2011 at 3:55 am)lucent Wrote: You implied that I was by saying How does that imply that you are the only or the rare Christian that believes in demons and believes that all people who do not believe in Christianity talk to demons? You're grasping at strawmen here. I was implying that you are one of the rare Christians that is actually stupid enough to claim they have seen a demon. As for the latter half, none of the Christians I know has ever mentioned that every single person of every other religion speaks to demons. I did not, at any point, say most Christians do not believe in demons. You are being willfully dishonest in trying to imply I said something that I did not say. If you do not provide a direct quote, not one of your silly interpretations, I will simply have to assume that you do not mind lying to make yourself look better. Quote:That is an expression of shock and disbelief at what I believed, as if it wasn't normal for a Christian to believe this. At your beliefs, not the general belief in demons, which is what you said I was shocked about. Quote:Yes, you also included this: "You have "seen" demonic possession?" Uh, yeah, because only a total asshole thinks he sees possessed people. I'd be careful who you say that to. If you ever hurt someone you think is possessed, you're fucked. Quote:But since you mentioned both you can't wiggle out and claim it was he only reason you displayed these emotions. I'm sure you had the idea that Christians believed in demons but didn't understand the logical implications of that until I elucidated it for you. What the fuck is your lying ass on about? Logical implications of belief in demons? If a person believes in demons, it does not logically follow that they believe more than half of the world is possessed and that they have witnessed demonic possession firsthand. I am willing to bet you are from somewhere south of the Mason Dixon. |
