Clinton endured the original, modern day "hoax" or "witch hunt."  Rush Limbaugh made a fortune telling haters what they wanted to hear.  An entire tv news network grew from that success.  It's not going to stop until people stop listening and letting themselves be manipulated through confirmation bias.

Reagan revived negative campaigning and branded "liberal" an insult.  The right is reaping what they've sewn.  Some republicans know and admit this and acknowledge that Trump bashing has a solid basis in words and actions, unlike Whitewater or birtherism.
