This is making me hungry for venison, which I haven't had in years. But it is stupid expensive here in California. I'm seeing ground venison for $12 a pound. 

I'd request a DNA test at that price.

It runs around $7.00USD the pound here (no DNA test required). Steaks, chops and roasts are higher.

I have to confess I googled the term, and it isn't so much the animal but the nerve pattern that makes the spinal nerves  look like a horses tail

Don't have a truck and don't wear camo..... Just black pajamas - makes me pretty invisible inside the blind.

Horse meat is ok, if done right. Not my favourite, but not horrible.

I thought it was about halfway between venison and beef...i thought it pretty tasty.. ... Of course it was a peppered stroganoff...
