They are great for welding too. I have a couple different heights. One is usually about right for the job...

Yep, any job where you'd otherwise have to be on your feet, they're the ticket. I've fallen asleep too many times to not appreciate being seated. (~36 hours nursing a recalcitrant turbo-generator, for example.)

Bought a bar stool for my husband to sit on at his workbench in the garage several years ago for Christmas. That thing has a lot of miles on it. Probably the Christmas gift he got the most use out of.

I saw a guy try riding his barstool at Fowlerville - from the fairgrounds (where the Rodeo is held) to a bar downtown.

He got a DUI on a barstool.

I guess that' s bragging points....
