So, at 8:44 a.m. on April 26, he walked down a busy hallway at Plymouth Middle School outside of Minneapolis, loaded the magazine, chambered a round. He pointed his dad’s gun toward the ceiling, the start of a school shooting that, like more than a dozen others in the past four months, has gone almost entirely overlooked during the pandemic.

He saw the terror in the eyes of the kids around him. He heard their screams. He watched them run. With the hallway empty, he said, he removed the magazine and cleared the chamber. Then the boy sat on the floor, where he waited for someone to kill him.

It' s like the dimbulbs who say to " rack the action on your 12 gauge to scare off an intruder".

Duh... Not me.  You give away your position and tell him what weapon you have - and the fact you're an idiot.

The RIGHT way to do it is stay hidden and quiet with gun at ready. If the intruder is lucky he won' t find me. He can steal the TV with my blessing. But as soon as he becomes a threat - things probably won' t go well for him...

It’s also worth nothing that not only are violent break-ins less common than they used to be, they’re, surprisingly enough, linked with making shit worse, on the whole. Oddly enough, protecting yourself with a gun in cases of violent attacks actually makes you more likely to be injured (I’m putting this factoid in the category of “I Know, Right?”), and if you keep a gun in your home in self-defense, it’s more likely to kill a member of that household than a bad guy, whether it’s by (in increasing order of likelihood) homicide, suicide, or an accident.

See The National Rifleman - the NRA magazine. They have a regular column that has been running for decades Called The Armed Citizen - that give cases where a gun saved somebody' s ass. They give names, dates and places - all easily verifiable. You can cry "shill" and " bias" all you like - but I bet you can' t prove any of those cases as false.

See The National Rifleman - the NRA magazine. They have a regular column that has been running for decades Called The Armed Citizen - that give cases where a gun saved somebody' s ass. They give names, dates and places - all easily verifiable. You can cry "shill" and " bias" all you like - but I bet you can' t prove any of those cases as false.

Statistics from a site using academic sources Trump's anecdotes in a nonacademic pop magazine, And she doesn't prove any of the false. The evidence is in guns don't make us safer and some stories don't alter that.
