All this crap by governments to "reduce green house gases" is just ...
1. Doing to little to late (as padraic has stated)
2. Doing diddly squat to ACTUALLY reducing CO2 via legislation as others

3. Ignores the pollution issue and goes no where to addressing that
4. Relies on 'revenge' factor towards Big Corporations to get the average

And agreed.... the planet SHOULD have done something about this Pollution issue long before this. There have been inroads into reducing emissions..right now (here) we are finding that the current Diesel motors have a much lower footprint and emissions than say the LNG powered heavy-vehicles.

Disposing of dead bodies are not necessarily, human body provides the important nutrients for trees, plants, animals and ecosystem. All is one, one is all. The BSE epidemic has shown, that even with all our technology, disposing of contaminated biowaste is difficult, slow and prone to reintroducing diseases back into the supply (recycling of feed is one such vector). Nature's ability to "take care" was briefly considered and disregarded as simply leaving heaps of rotting meat proved to be more noxious and dangerous (bacterial blooms, et al).

We have long been increasing this planet's ability to support a human population well beyond carrying capacity. The issue is not of technology.

The issue is, has, and will always be politics.

The politics of the AIDS epidemic in Africa prevents these people from ridding themselves of a generational curse through condoms, aid and medical care.

The politics of starvation, sovereignty and ideology are orthogonal to our ability to halt famine in Africa -- corporate-motivated food 'dumping' has shown that finding and transporting food is not a problem. Nor is artificially inflating the cost of those goods when delivered to that market to prevent destroying the local economy or parceling out each piece such that it is a hassle to obtain the needed sustenance for another day out of the question.

However, the corporations providing food for 'food dumping' benefit from crashing the local economy of those they're trying to 'help' -- they can increase dependence on corporate food sources and simultaneously nuke any potential market into their very controlled oblivion.

So, all in all, you find different saboteurs riddled hither and yon. Even the ones who 'claim' to help often possess ulterior motive.

Without an intense focus on detecting and resolving conflict-of-interest, corrupt politicians, corporations and well meaning individuals will continue to waste money, resources and ultimately deal significant harm while dealing significant good.

And this is in a region where more harm is NOT needed.
