How does Marxism promise a fairy tale? Is the idea of workers owning their own livelihood really that far fetched? In reality, we have miniature Marxism all over the place in the form of small businesses. If you have a business with, say, a dozen people and all are invested, that's a Marxist reality. How is that a fairy tale? There are also ESOP companies but I've never been a part of one so I don't know how they work. But those are somewhat close to Marxist in nature. It's the idea that you aren't just a paid hand, but rather a full owner in the work that you do. For whatever reason, it just doesn't scale.

Being rational, means that you know and understand something well enough to provide a scientific explanation for it. Enlightenment refers to something that is innate, while rationality refers to something that is learned.

Marxism and Christianity are very similar insomuch that they both promise people a fairytale society,

Marx never promised any such thing he only said he believed his system would create a more egalitarian and he was a staunch critic of utopianism 

 but with the real intention of manipulating them by a small group of rulers. 

Marx had no such intention and was a harsh critic of people who tried to use his idea's for their own agenda's 

With both originators not being adherents of their ideology.

Marx never lived in contradiction with his own ideas. 

The only difference is that the creators of Christianity added supernatural powers to Jesus for people to believe in it more fanatically.
