RE: 911 + 20
I was at the national archives that day and one of the staff had the radio on and then we heard about the first plane. It was surreal.

I was at work when the first plane hit one of the towers. A fellow employee who kept a radio going in his work area told me what happened. I thought it was an accident until the second plane hit. Our boss closed the shop about an hour after the towers had fallen so we could go home and watch the news coverage on TV. I recorded about eight hours of the afternoon's events on VHS, but the whole incident was so disturbing that I never watched any of the tapes later.

Fuck. I used to live just about 12 miles south of DC in Northern Virginia. I've been past the Pentagon countless times growing up. I've been on the "Mall" countless times too.

My late friend Bob from Australia, visited the restaurant in one of the towers prior to 9/11. But that was way before 9/11.

RE: 911 + 20
I was living in New York City at the time. All my kids were off to school, and I was at home. Had gone back to bed, since I worked late nights at the time. My oldest daughter woke me up from yelling. I was royally pissed at first, cause I had maybe 3 hours of sleep. That's what I got most nights at the time. Got home from work around 3:00 AM, got up around 6:30ish to get my kids off to school (my oldest daughter was out of school already). But when I heard the news, and saw the smoke (you could see the smoke from our apartment building.) I remember calming down. I'm not much of a crier, but on that day I cried. My kids had to be evacuated from school. A lot of the events from that day kind of blend together. I knew people who died that day. The whole thing was very unsettling.

No conspiracy theories. Osama Bin Laden convinced a bunch of inbred morons to hijack some planes, and fly them into buildings. Simple as that.
"Tradition" is just a word people use to make themselves feel better about being an asshole.

So, prior to 9/11 was before 9/11. Got it.

Understandable. I wasn't near any of it and even I was scared shitless.
