In public? Does he/she shave his legs (and, in my case, arms), wear makeup, jewelry, pluck his eyebrows (some women like more "bushy" ones, as do I), wear perfume, lipstick, etc.?

In my opinion, until and when a biological male is willing to openly and regularly wear a dress/skirt in public (with or without dark glasses -- I've done both), they have yet to cross the threshold into transgenderville.

Who said anything about him being transgender?

You have never seen a woman who looks like a famous man, or vice versa?

I take it you are not a Monty Python fan. All of the cast has been known to play the part of women... It' s as old as theatre itself....

Indeed, that is true! As with Dustin Hoffman playing Tootsie, it was just an acting role. When his character "detransitioned" in the movie, there was absolutely no expression of sorrow or grief. That's what distinguishes transgender females, such as myself, from mere crossdressers (nothing wrong with such, by the way), in that I present myself as a woman all of the time, not just some of the time, even when it comes to intercourse.

Honestly, if we're talking about British comedians Jehanne looks like, I'm leaning more towards Nigel Planer.

(fucking Man Who Never Was!)

That said, Nigel's not trans, and unlike a lot of British comedians, the only time I can remember his cross-dressing was in one episode of The Young Ones when he spent half the episode in a dress, but in that case, that was just because his bedroom was boarded up while he was taking a bath and had to take a dress from Rick's room. And if it makes any more sense in context, it's only because the series is so bizarre that that single episode alone includes things like a period pain relief commercial set in Hell, a South African vampire, a bomb attached to the doorbell, a scene on a 19th century convict ship, the entire cast going out of character to insult the guest star, and (depending on the print) two teddy bears having sex, and it's still one of the most normal episodes.

It's not a fair comparison, unless you have a picture of him naked. I could supply that, of course!

P.S. Did you also note the facial hair??

… Forgive me if I seem a bit overzealous, but, am I the only one uncomfortable with the idea of talking directly to a trans woman about men we evidently think she might look like?

I don’t think that’s a good idea.

Good thing that was 30 years later. That and, as much as I like old Britcoms, the quality of the video Auntie Beeb used in the 1980s could not muster the sort of resolution necessary to pick that up. And at least if there is any left on you (maybe just peach fuzz if anything at this point), it doesn't show up, either.
