Unemployment, homelessness, and poverty - and substance abuse. These are the things that await the majority of groundpounders in any age, of any sexual orientation, back home - compounded in their specific cases (as a majority white and rural demographic) by homophobic communities. Many joined to escape those things and avail themselves of the meals, and bed, and marginal pay. The military refused to acknowledge that they even existed, denying their honor in a frankly shameful display of antipathy towards brothers in arms.
No one takes the tools of killing more seriously than professional soldiers....but we still like to paint on our vehicles. We're not automatons. We have human emotions and compulsions. Did you know that we tend to paint our faces our very own way too...? That we name our equipment? That we can fall in love with a drone like it was a pet dog (to the point where soldiers have advocated for drones being awarded medals).
I respect all of that, but looking at things objectively, the tweet with the pride bullets turned out to be a major backfire, and it's clearly not a good look as I doubt their intention was to piss off most gay people, so given that, I think we can conclude that the tweet was not a great example of a good way to try to recruit gay folks, but who knows, maybe I'm just not seeing how this is going to turn out fantastically for recruitment.
I could just as easily turn your argument around and use the hypothetical argument Helios gave us. BLM written on police bullets. If a police department tweeted that out, would you say to BLM activists who were offended, hush up, this isn't for you, it's for black police officers? Would you really do that? Helios says he would be ok with BLM being put on police bullets, but somehow I think you would have a different opinion on the matter.

Moving the goalposts now? No, it would not be cool if the military put MLK Jr.s face on a bullet. Does that answer your question?
I’m not budging the goal posts at all. I asked if you’d be grossed out if the military expressed support for other minority files in their ranks. You declined to answer, as is your right.

You're asking the wrong guy IA. I liked the gay bullets, I'm definitely loving the blm bullets. There are people who see an opportunity in the service for great acts of love and compassion.
There are people who are gay and like bullets. If you ask me, it's a recruiting match made in heaven.
Truth be told, combat arms is downsizing - they want a leaner, meaner, smarter force. They can't really afford to miss out on some brilliant nco or officer just because that person would prefer to work in a place that can acknowledge their existence. It's not exactly a cattle call.

As long as you'd be cool with BLM bullets being taken out of Brianna Taylors chest. I'm sure her family would be thrilled and really feeling that black lives matter, and not offended in the least. It's the police officers opinion that matters though, right, because the bullets were designed for them, not for Brianna Taylors mama, so she can hush. I am following correctly?

One suspects they'd be pulling them out of cops chests more often than brianna taylors - but I digress. You know it's pointless to concern troll me.

If the cops issued the tweeter post honoring Black cops and talking about Anti-racism in the police force and did so by displaying Black and White-tipped bullets.I don't think Brianna Taylors parent's opinion really matters and advise them to focus on something more important like fighting police brutality. So this comment is just silly concern trolling.

Also, consider if we actually do a 1v1 comparison between her scenario and what the military did it's just as inoffensive.

There really isn't any 1v1 comparison to be had. The military didn't actually equip soldiers with rainbow bullets, to be picked out of chests. That's just IA losing his shit in an entirely predictable way, concern trolling me about the optics of a non event not realizing I would be totally onboard with scaring the living shit out of and/or giving a paramilitary force of occupation (read: cops) nightmares and pause by putting out a bunch of blm bullets, or, indeed, filling their murderous armories with them as a reminder whenever they pull their own weapons.

He's in the fugue state. Turned around and thoroughly coopted. Rejects any concern for him to that effect. I wish I could say that I've seen people come back out of it, but I haven't.
