Only trans women. And the messaging is getting very close to "they're onpy transitioning because it's much easier to win against weak women."

That's not true. Trans women are not the only trans people banned. Non-binary are banned too. Gender is a social construct, and thus we can create new genders by the day, and therefore an infinite amount of possible genders are actually banned from competing in so called women's sports.

A countably infinite, I suppose?

Would you be able to give me a few examples of institutionalized discrimination against transgenders in the US?

Here's a few examples of laws specifically targeting trans folk (quite a few of which have passed).
And going beyond specific laws, here's a pretty comprehensive survey about trans experiences with discrimination in 2015. You can get 302 pages' worth of answers to that question there. The people behind this survey are currently working on a more comprehensive update.
That oughta be something to chew on if you're at all interested in learning about discrimination against trans folk in the US.

The only big differences between that and fill-on ethnic cleansing are that the action taken is more scattershot (then again, violence against black people under Jim Crow was scattershot, and also tempered by the need for an oppressed underclass that doesn’t exist for trans folk) and that trans folk don’t really count as an ethnicity.

Do gays also count?
teachings of the Bible are so muddled and self-contradictory that it was possible for Christians to happily burn heretics alive for five long centuries. It was even possible for the most venerated patriarchs of the Church, like St. Augustine and St. Thomas Aquinas, to conclude that heretics should be tortured (Augustine) or killed outright (Aquinas). Martin Luther and John Calvin advocated the wholesale murder of heretics, apostates, Jews, and witches. - Sam Harris, "Letter To A Christian Nation"

In my opinion, individual liberties trump States' "rights", which means that moving from California to Texas should not leave one with the feeling that one left one country to move to another.
