I repeat living isn't a crime no matter if that may result in deaths. Poor countries have not committed any crime. No one has committed any crime for simply living. Therefore the solution is not retribution it should be cooperation within the means of each nation.

if what the developing world is doing is crime then the entire developed world would be on the death row, and thus in no position to pretend to judge any other accused.
But what the less savory parts of the developed world is doing instead is assert some natural right to all the loot accumulated from the prodigious 160 year crime spree, while sanctimoniously pronouncing harsher judgement on others who criminal career are much less distinguished in both severity and length and whose total haul of loot is far smaller

Chinese killed tens of millions of their own people for centuries. Muslims enslaved 3 millions Europeans, 18 million Blacks and killed tens of millions of Hindus. Blacks enslaved and genocided other Blacks. Everyone is guilty of something. If 3rd worlders believe that they don't have to bear responsibility for their actions neither should westerners.

If the devloped west does not bare their greater responsibility incurred while accumulating their greater share of the loot, then they can give up their greater share of the loot and go back to live a developing world’s standard of living.
If they are willing to do so, and after they have already done so, then they can demand the rest of developing world near equal share of the responsibility.
if they are not willing to give up the loot or take a greater responsibility commensurate with having accumulated more loot, then the west had better shut up about responsibility when the developing world is working to accumulate as much loot as the west had already done.

Every murderous and/or slaving culture has to come to terms with that at some point, sure - but we're talking about contributions to global warming are we not?
The developing world isn't even in the running..but it would be lovely if the developed world could come up with a solution to that problem before those countries who have contributed little and suffered much get to dumping shitloads of greenhouse gasses, I think. The alternative is a bunch more Indias and Chinas....and that's obviously not looking great.
Have you had any thoughts on who would pay, how they would pay, and what those funds would go to? Would it look something like this?
or more like this?

It's almost as if the dude is more concerned with concern trolling than actually finding solutions, tbh.

Solutions are easy to put forth, virtually impossible to execute.

and let’s plot the total contribution on per current capita basis. The US has 1/5 as many people as China, which in turn has 10 times more people than russia and 17 times more people than germany.
India has 10 times more people than japan and nearly 20 times more people than France.
in an equitable world china ought to be entitled to emit 10 times more in total before the US should have a right to register the first peep of any complaint, and india should have the right to emit 40 times more in total before the US has any right to complain.

Historical emissions are responsbile for current CO2 level that is not dangerous. By the time climate change will supposedly become catastrophic total CO2 emissions would overwhelmingly come from developing countries since they already emit 73% of CO2 and their emissions are constantly growing while US emissions are falling.
