Boru I had this album. My dad hated it so much! He wasn't a big fan of Black Oak Arkansas either because of the raspy-voiced lead singers in both. He always griped but my music choices were never censored.
Parents approving of their kids’ musical tastes is something of a rarity. I had a great uncle who insisted that rock and roll was just a fad and would never last. Since he said the same thing about television, we can safely conclude that his psychic abilities were less than stellar.

My parents had quite a varied selection of albums. On Saturday mornings mom watched American Bandstand and danced around the kitchen. Dad leaned country but also liked folk and movie soundtracks. I got my rather eclectic taste in music from them. The only thing I recall one of them turning off was Johnny Mathis. If dad came in and mom had her Johnny Mathis album playing, he walked straight to the turntable and lifted the needle. LOL, that was the only censorship I remember.

Item for the bucket list: get a spot singing the national anthem at a baseball game and sing this instead:
Corollary item: figure out a way to smuggle an entire brass band into a baseball stadium with nobody noticing.

I'm just going to leave this here. No particular reason, I swear!
