Feeling like an alien within your own skin, which is what I assume it feels like, would be a far deeper thing than just some arbitrary set of personality traits. The brain and its development is plastic, including in the realm of gender identity... distinct from biological sex; for most people they develop in tandem, but not everyone clearly. So in this world where there exists the means to create better harmony between those two aspects of a person, why would you deny that existential comfort to people just for the sake of better being able to pigeon-hole them by what is, or was, in their pants?

Sorry. I can't accept that. I always wanted to be a great baseball player and I have played baseball. I could believe all I want, feel like a great player and identify as one. It would be no help to me to have people pretend to agree with me. By the way, what makes a great player?  Is it what I think it is or what it really is. Can I hit, field, steal, pitch, etc. I think a great player strikes out all the time, misses fly balls, is slow on the base pads, etc.  Am I correct?

We don't care if you accept it. You wanting to be a great baseball player has nothing to do with gender identities as this isn't a person who wants to be the opposite gender they already are it. For Trans people respect and acknowledgement does help and has helped o this statement is simply false. Also what makes a great baseball player is totally subjective and could non physical i might add (Good sportsmanship or having Team Spirit etc)

The REAL reason these people can't stand the notion of "gay" or "transgender" or anything other than a 100 % binary world, is that it threatens their gods and belief systems, and if accepted, opens the floodgates to everything they say they believe being false. If their gods "designed" and creates people, then all this is a major FLAW in creation. They can't stand that this sort of thing happens at all. Fundamentalists demand their gods be thought of as "in charge". The SCIENCE of Human Sexuality is what should drive these matters, not the ignorant presumptions of Fundamentalist religionists who are indoctrinated and biased by their Fundy sects and cults.

 No he's not correct. But his example (as you point out) has a name. Fallacy of the false analogy.
