The U-2 spy plane of cold war fame was so secret that to avoid any kind of notice, the first installment of government payment, valued at about $20 million in today’s money, to Lockheed for the development of the aircraft was mailed as a personal cheque in an ordinary envelope to the home of Clarence Johnson, the chief designer of the aircraft.

I saw this Paul McCartney special when it first aired on PBS.
The one part that always stayed with me started at around 12 minutes in, when Macca decided to demonstrate multi-track recording using two water glasses and a harmonium to perform "Band on the Run." But somehow, I never noticed his mention of the Radio 2 commercial at 16:15 until now. So, I just discovered the original ad:

teachings of the Bible are so muddled and self-contradictory that it was possible for Christians to happily burn heretics alive for five long centuries. It was even possible for the most venerated patriarchs of the Church, like St. Augustine and St. Thomas Aquinas, to conclude that heretics should be tortured (Augustine) or killed outright (Aquinas). Martin Luther and John Calvin advocated the wholesale murder of heretics, apostates, Jews, and witches. - Sam Harris, "Letter To A Christian Nation"
In 2021, Poland issued a commemorative coin on the theme of “impact moments: meteorite”, it depicts a live triceratops beholding an meteror streaking through the air on the obverse, and on the reverse it depicts a triceratops skeleton lying on the ground, implying the moments after the chixalube impact 65 million years ago.
But what makes the coin even more unique is on the top edge of each coil is deep notch and inside the notch is a actual piece of the Muonionalusta meteorite, grounded and polished to be flush with coin surface. Muonionalusta meteorite is believed to actually be the oldest meteorite material yet recovered on earth.
Ham and cheese is responsible for European civilization as well as hardback books.

‘Boo!’ as a word to scare or startle someone is a Latin verb. It literally means, ‘I alarm!’

Turns out that the Disability Judges don't schedule hearings after noon. At least it’s better than 8 AM.
