Does the Quran support Theocracy?

RE: Does the Quran support Theocracy?
If the teachings within religion can be found outside it, without the heavy and unwholesome baggage religion brings with it, then let us not confuse religion as beneficial just because it contains aspects it regularly ignores for its twisted agenda.

- Do you know the Morgan Jones Character in The Walking Dead Season 6?

The part with him being trained by his aikido teachers who ends up bitten by a zombie are actually my favorite in the whole series.

You know “All life are precious”, “Where there is life there is hope” (because all of us can decide to change)

I am part of those who need to believe that actually. No one can argue on what religion has become and what it is really doing to us on a daily basis.

But I chose to focus instead on what these people wanted to teach us in the first place. Because whether you like it or not there is nothing inside religion that is of interest to me other than that.

This reminds of this ultra-religious bigot who came in front of my high school when we were hanging out there just being the young adults that we were in those times with our cigarettes in our hands etc. The man was criticizing us in several ways.

Back then he was more of an amusement. But right now, his kind are making me sad more than anything else.

So I am a believer in the possibility and necessity of change. That’s all I am guilty of Smile

What those people wanted to teach us in the first place, were the ethics of 7th century child molesters, slavers, and warlords.  A feudal god for feudal kings in a feudal world.  The main schism to this very day being a dispute between two princes who have both been dead for over a thousand years.  It's a testament to the decency of people in general that what came out of that cauldron wasn't even worse.   You're looking for the good in the wrong place.  It's not in magic book and it never was.

Whenever you pontificate on the deeper meanings™ of magic book, you're just telling us how you would have written a better one, for example - and most of the time I believe you...until you start saying silly shit about there being no such thing as islamic terrorism.
I am the Infantry. I am my country’s strength in war, her deterrent in peace. I am the heart of the fight… wherever, whenever. I carry America’s faith and honor against her enemies. I am the Queen of Battle. I am what my country expects me to be, the best trained Soldier in the world. In the race for victory, I am swift, determined, and courageous, armed with a fierce will to win. Never will I fail my country’s trust. Always I fight on…through the foe, to the objective, to triumph overall. If necessary, I will fight to my death. By my steadfast courage, I have won more than 200 years of freedom. I yield not to weakness, to hunger, to cowardice, to fatigue, to superior odds, For I am mentally tough, physically strong, and morally straight. I forsake not, my country, my mission, my comrades, my sacred duty. I am relentless. I am always there, now and forever. I AM THE INFANTRY! FOLLOW ME!

You cannot be a sailor just by calling yourself a sailor or just by acquiring a sailboat.

The first thing you need is a certificate. Then you need lots of practice in the sea. Many people undergo several accidents like breaking a pole or losing a sale etc. Accidents are not uncommon.

So you need some experience then. If you are on a commercial ship you need to learn to respect the sea. Even then it is possible for you to get yourself and everybody else killed because of one small mistake.

So if there is one thing all sailors hates is when some rich man buys a little ship, put his captain clothes on and start to act like he has been doing that all his life. It’s an insult to all true sailors.

So I don’t know if you are watching the news about the “Islamic Regime” now but, how about the elephants of the Cirque du Soleil? Don’t they deserve some sort of religious recognition as well? Smile Smile

I’m confused - are you saying elephants would make good sailors to keep books from attacking people?

I have to admit that seeing an elephant do those aerial tricks would be awesome.  However, I think that drugs would need to be involved.

The signage in the background indicates these elephants are part of the Barnum & Bailey circus act. But maybe you meant circus as a general term rather than the Cirque du Soleil specifically?

It's Leo - doing what Leo does.

I still don't understand the whole sailor and elephants post. Even with pictures. Maybe hand puppets and crayons would help.

I come from a family of sailors and still can't work out what the hell post #33 was supposed to be about.
