I think it's like candy.

Users wish to register their displeasure with local annoyances. Finding that they can't neg rep him into oblivion and bored with waiting for them to violate the rules enough to be gauntletted, they wish to bestow a dubious honor.

On those grounds, I would reject damn near anything, because the source is tainted.

I would consider allowing neg reps again, but I'm uncertain how we'd deal with 'Neg Rep' hit squads or members maintaining a pre-WW1 series of reputation arrangements.

To anyone who objects with my reasoning, may I throw out three words: "In This Mind".

I sorta see the draw in giving others negative "kudos" (thumbs down), but I also don't see the point. One can always make clear their disdain for someone's post by simply quoting it and re-posting. I think the only thing that comes from negative awards is negativity ... and I already have enough of that in me as it is. Don't want more.



that being said, any discussion forum is going to have a relative amount of negativity - that's just the way it is.
